Someone needs to check this guy out for senility. What a dumb thing to say; and who would buy that? I think it makes ghouliani look stark-raving mad.

Quote of the Day

"We had no domestic attacks under Bush; we've had one under Obama."

-- Rudy Giuliani, in an interview on ABC News, apparently forgetting one big day.

6. So is Giuliani himself saying 9/11 was MIHOP?
Lessee.

Could the Beltway sniper have been MIHOP?
Or the Anthrax in the mail? That came from a military lab and the guy who was suicided over the anthrax doesn't seem to be the one who mailed it.

we have had two domestic terrorist attacks. One more attack
and he is done.

It is wise to know the story line from the opposition. Check
out Radio.

This is what America is hearing.

Former Enquirer HQ Fumagated for Anthrax/ by Guliani's "Bio One" Co.

Former Enquirer HQ Fumigated for Anthrax

By JILL BARTON, Associated Press Writer

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The former headquarters of a supermarket tabloid targeted in a deadly anthrax attack will be rid of the deadly spores three years later with a long-awaited fumigation.

Sunday's cleanup is being led by BioONE, a company established by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani (news - web sites) and Sabre Technical Services, which decontaminated other buildings hit by anthrax attacks.

Chlorine dioxide, a chemical used to disinfect drinking water, will be pumped into the American Media Inc. building to kill the spores. The cleanup is set to last 24 to 36 hours, to be followed by repeated tests to determine the safety of the building before a quarantine is lifted.

BioONE then plans to occupy the space as the headquarters for its new crisis management venture. The company hopes to move in by the end of the year.

The arrival of anthrax in the mail at the building was the first in a series of still-unsolved attacks that killed five people, among them photo editor Bob Stevens of AMI's tabloid, the Sun. The attacks emptied Senate offices and a major mail processing center in the Washington area, rattling a nation shaken by the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks a month earlier.

Thing is, dems in general were happy to "blame" Bush for 9/11 though, in fact, there was never much evidence showing that the attack could have been anticipated and prevented. (Sorry 9/11 Truthers, but I don't buy your theory.)

So it is now an ingrained part of American politics that a President is always not just responsible for any attack on the country, but moreoever (here's the important point) should be able to prevent any attack on America.

Which of course is false. We are now down a road in which America can and likely will be eventually attacked successfully sometime in the future by one or more jihadists.

I think we have to recognize that, to a large degree, we are reaping what we sowed if the public now finds the right wing attack on Obama as failing to protect America to be credible.

The antidote to this would be talk seriously about why terrorism happens, rather than just uttering self-satisfying threats ("we will get them, yep, for sure") and mouthing the usual blandishments about "security" ("we will make sure no-one ever attacks us again, yep, for sure".)

Not much chance of that happening, far as I can tell.

29. I don't buy that at all
Frankly, the majority of Democrats absolutely came together behind Bush after 9/11. The fingerpointing came much, MUCH later, after hearing all the information about the "Bin Laden determined to strike inside U.S." report that sat on the desk unread, apparently. Regardless, at the beginning, Bush had a tremendous opportunity to do what he claimed he wanted to do - unite the country. Instead, the GOP sat around blaming Clinton for 9/11 (instead of just saying, "We'll do better and work together"). They slammed Democrats who questioned anything as "unpatriotic." Bush had astronomic approval ratings after 9/11 BECAUSE of the country briefly coming together.

Then came Iraq.

That's what really started the ball rolling.

But to say Dems were happy to blame Bush for 9/11 is inaccurate, I think, as well as suggesting we're reaping what we sowed. I didn't hear much of anyone blaming Bush at the time. His 90% approval ratings shows that. Republicans haven't shown any inclination to support this President on ANYTHING. It's been a constant drumbeat of crap from day one. I just don't buy the idea that it's our fault. This has always been the right-wing's way. Blame Democrats and accept no responsibility. OR, as with Rudy, just flat out lie and hope no one challenges you. Seems to work for them. Sadly.

35. Well, except for that little incident in Manhattan, right, Rudi?
I saw him actually saying this - he was laughing, acting like he was having a great time and saying something profound yet witty. Even made a joke about the cost of the snow removal in NYC after he concluded his remarks.
He is a real jerk...I guess there wasn't anyone good who wanted to run for mayor at that time.
