A teabagger was shown holding a sign saying, "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?"
That made me sad and hit me as summarizing the entire RW opposition to Obama-they don't think a Black man has the RIGHT to be President. The answer to that question is simple-he's the PRESIDENT-of ALL of us-even the racists. But they obviously can't take it that someone from a race they consider lower than theirs is the leader of our country. Luckily, though, THEY'RE the ones in the minority.

1. I'll tell you who he is
He is the Goddamn President of the United States, and when this nation is at war, with troops in the field, criticism is NOT allowed.

3. Exactly...
that IS what they said under Bush. But, of course, consistency isn't one of their strong points.

26. I think that's why they are pursuing the birth-certificate trick.
They kind of painted themselves in a corner with all the rhetoric against dissent; the only way out is to try to claim that he's not the president.

2. I wonder what these idiots do when their kids have black teachers
Probably take them out and homeschool.

and how do they explain successful black athletes/artists to themselves?

5. I bet their kids don't TELL them if they have Black teachers...
but since teachers don't have as much power as the president, they may not mind as much. Who knows with them, though.

And it's probably easy for them to justify successful Black athletes/artists: They're there to entertain them. :eyes:

23. I read once that black people have a higher ratio of fast-twitch muscle fibers.
But for whatever reason, black people are faster sprinters and higher jumpers than white people. Denying this is denying reality.

My homeroom teacher was black. He was the best teacher(biology) I have had at any level. He was at D-Day in WW2 too. Thanks and rest in peace Mr. Richardson.

15. There are elements within the ignorant teabagger's revolt who are clearly racist.
Edited on Fri Jan-08-10 03:17 PM by ShortnFiery
However, I'd suggest that most of the people protesting there are SADLY ignorant, frustrated and depressed?

I honestly believe the people who are NOT racist can be TURNED AROUND to our side.

We can join with BASICALLY GOOD PEOPLE who are not well informed on one issue: These illicit wars.

On THAT issue, the Ron Paul Libertarians will join us. No, I don't support libertarian, no central government tenets, not at all! :(

However, we need to not be CRUEL and WORK TO FIND COMMON GROUND, and just perhaps educate and TURN to our side some of these more moderate to liberal "teabaggers."

The Things They Say

by BooMan
Thu Jan 7th, 2010 at 10:34:21 PM EST

Newt Gingrich was trying to praise RNC Chairman Michael Steele, but he unintentionally admitted something quite damning about the typical Republican.

"Michael Steele makes a number of old-time Republicans very nervous," Gingrich said. "He comes out of a different background. He went to seminary ... he's African-American ... But I think he's pretty close to what we need. He's different, he's gutsy and he's going to make a number of Republicans mad."

Now, I don't think someone going to seminary is cause to make your average Republican nervous unless the Rev. Jeremiah Wright is teaching there. What makes old-time Republicans nervous is that Steele has dark skin, which means (in their minds) that there's a decent chance he's going to steal your car at gunpoint.

Nice to see Gingrich admit the obvious, but it was probably just diarrhea of the mouth.
