3. Webb has the guts to go strong for the working guy though. |
|
I think he is more apt to take on and confront big business. Obama has the right ideas but no desire to fight for them. Instead he gets pushed into supporting things he used to think were bad ideas.

5. Can you site a case where he actually has taken on the corporations? |
|
I like his prison bill, but I have not seen him ever lead an effort against any corporation, though few have.

7. He just doesn't strike me as a person who would let a corporation get in his way if he really wants |
|
something.
The causes he has taken up like the prison bill are things off the radar. I like that he is more of an independent thinker. And I do think he has a strong sense of justice.
I'd have to hear more from him but I get a sense that he is a force to be reckoned with.

15. I will agree with you that he is independent |
|
and that he is stubborn and will not budge once he decides something (like the Vietnam War being winnable). I can think of many with stronger senses of justice - I will take Kerry, Leahy, Dodd (yes, Dodd) over Webb any day.
But, when you look at votes, he is very often not a dependable vote.

He is far to Obama's and almost everyone in the party's right. He and Warner may be the best we can do in Virginia, but as President? Also, he will be 70 years old (yeah, he looks young for his age.)

14. Oh, they'd vote for Eric Cantor in a heartbeat.... |
|
... maybe not for President but for VP. Besides, they're all on the "We have to love Israel 'cause Christ is going to make us all royalty on Earth in Jerusalem" tip.
