while people were up in arms over the fact that ONE of the dates considered for the SOTU was the same day as the Lost premiere, the WH didn't schedule it around Lost. Even if that is the way ABC & CNN are spinning it.

There used to be a concept that we leased the public airwaves to these companies and as a condition of leasing the airwaves they had to show a certain amount of programming that was considered in the public interest such as State of the Union messages, political conventions.
