1. Now, we were just marveling that today is the birthday of ...
both my son's fiancee (we're taking her out to dinner tonight) and my niece. I hate to ruin their b'days by telling them that it's Richard Nixon's, too!

2. Sleazy greasy slimeball criminal.
How could we know that traitorous Ronald Reagan would make Nixon look like a piker?

4. Also...
He authorized the Clean Air and Clean Waters act, and established OSHA and the Consumer Products Safety Commission. The EPA was established under him, as well. I'm not a fan, either. But, compared to those in his party these days, he looks like a flaming liberal.

6. Could have had great legacy if paranoia and misguided self-righteousness hadn't destroyed him

... and his belief that the Executive Branch of the government was the king of the branches ... with all the power.

The crook nearly broke up my parents' marriage. My mother detested Nixon more than any other human being, and my dad made the mistake of voting for him. Would have been better if my dad had gambled, drunk, spent all our money or run around on my mom ... Voting for Nixon was the greatest sin of all time in her eyes (LOL!)

For all the yelling that went on in my household starting in 1968, I spit on Nixon's grave.
