1. Because the Clinton quotations are completely unverifiable and are an attempt
to slam BOTH Clinton and Kennedy.

9. This is pure and simple a hit on Reid to weaken him further.
This was planned and orchestrated...

12. Equating him with Lott is laughable, isn't it?

14. Yes, and I think there are a lot of people who are going to truly appreciate that
comparison. It's a great comeback. Because it is so true.

11. Reid is such a weak leader. He's a Republican asset! They want to equate Reid with Lott. Ugh!

He is the one who apologized for them.

16. They could be verified the same way the Reid quotes were
Clinton could be asked about it like Reid was asked.

5. The focus should be on the fact that Palin is mentally unstable
this is HUGE. Imagine that McCain and the GOP actually knowingly tried to put a mentally unstable person in the White House.

8. Well I think it's up to us then to make it the focus, as much as possible
As you pointed out there are still those wishing to put the mentally ill woman into the White House.

24. I don't always agree with you, NJMaverick,
but on this point you are absolutely correct. The woman is certifiable, and I'm glad someone is finally talking about it on network TV.

It's appalling that John McCain and the operatives at the RNC had so little regard for the American people that they were willing to put a dangerously unstable person a heartbeat away from the presidency. It's really just mind-boggling.

But at least they're talking about it now. These revelations won't have much effect on her equally delusional fanbase, but hopefully she will be confined to Fox News from now on.

17. IMO, Harry simply is using a different N-word with his statement. I will get in a shoving match

to be first in line to excoriate the Dan Quayle from Alaska.

But I refuse to be associated with or condone Harry's comments.

In his head, I have to wonder if he was really thinking of the other horrible N-word.

Why even distinguish from any other politician? Does Harry feel threatened by Barack's speaking abilities?

Yes, yet - he may have said more than these pulled quotes. However, if he feels he needed to apologize for Barack's "negro dialect," he seems to carry some guilt for his statements.

19. Negro. I found some old newspapers under a floor board
and Negro was the term they used. The sports page was praising a Negro football star. On another page the suspect was a Negro male.
It wasn't a disrespectful term, it was quite proper.
Harry is old. The use of Negro probably didn't mean anything worse. Still the quote sounds embarrassing

I don't know the context of the quote. The book also reveals that Reid and other Senators were encouraging Obama to run before he'd announced. They surely noticed he was black and that many questioned "if America was ready". The truth is if Obama had been very dark skinned like his gather or if he had 'talked black' America might have been less ready. Harry might have sounded rude but it doesn't mean it wasn't valid.

When Obama ran for US House race was an issue....especially his speech. He was accused of talking all white and educated (in a very black district)

I still remember when a coworker stopped by my house when my best friend was there. She had called and he'd answered the phone a few times but had never met him.
When I saw her at work she was upset, I hadn't ever told (warned) her he was black. What a weird statement. I asked her if she had some problem with his race and after a pause she said not really because he doesn't sound black, but that was why I should have warned her.
Strange. I was on my way to a meeting so I just said something like "I agree, I always thought he sounded more blue-green"

Obama doesn't sound black. He might be okay with her and her ilk

18. Reid's state voted for Obama in the General election. They want to kill turnout next Fall.
They want it to be like it was in VA last November with shitty turnout.

It makes fellow Democrats feel so warm and fuzzy.

Funny how despite it all, "racist" Hillary is by far the most popular person in Obama's administration.

And what he said was stupid. But this book slimes just about everyone on both sides of the aisle. I am not so sure this book is really entirely accurate.

23. Taking out Reid can help harm the President's agenda
The only thing the Clinton comments can do is make me wonder what was going on that President Obama appointed Hillary as SoS despite what they flung at him. I have no idea how strange bedfellows are made in Washington and why. That's why I wouldn't play the political game!

25. Reid's the only one of the four currently in elective office.
That makes his issue "spicier." And God knows, our media largely prefer "spiciness" to substance.
