TPM: Palin to Become Fox News Contributor |
|
Palin To Become Fox News Contributor It was inevitable. Fox News confirms to the New York Times today that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will become a regular contributor to the cable news channel. In a multi-year deal, Palin will appear on the channel regularly. A source told the Times that while she will not have her own regular show, she will host an occasional series. Financial terms were not disclosed. http://tpmlivewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/01/palin-to-become-fox-news-contributor.php?ref=fpblg

5. so the teabaggers officially now have their own TV station |
|
while it was "theirs" before, this makes it all the more consolidated.
All liberal and progressive TV networks/venues are "alternative," such as Al Gore's Current TV, Democracy Now, Link TV, Colors, and available in limited markets (I got a few on Dish Network, but none on cable). Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are not "liberal" per se but do a good job of raising awareness of hypocrisy and stupidity of "conservatives" and teabaggers. MSNBC has certain segments that are progressive (Ed Schultz, Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddow--I don't have a TV, so I might be missing some here), but no entire "mainstream" cable channel is comparable to FOX.
This is a serious gap--I have no idea how to fix it. We need someone like George Soros to back some mainstream programming or something.

Yet Fox continues to spout their crap about being "fair and balanced," even as they hire one conservative wingnut after another.
But the Obama administration was so meeeeeeaaaannnnnn to call them out! Wah.

CNN and MSNBC won't be reporting every time she blinks or winks or smirks or whatever from now on.
