Yep, just like Bush
This president reacted to a disaster in a different country faster than the idiot before him reacted to a disaster in the United States. Throughout the day today, president Obama was coordinating Haiti aid by himself.

1. They had people on this all night
They went in the situation room around 8:30 or so last night and had people from all major departments on it all night. Obama also cancelled a trip to Maryland today to talk about energy and jobs.

3. Yes, we have a competent adult.
Every President should be one, regardless of the political party they are in but W. was practically a child.

5. Yeah, suck it up.
President Barack Obama placed a number of phone calls on Wednesday to coordinate disaster relief for Haiti.

Shortly before 1 p.m. he spoke with U.S. Ambassador to Haiti Kenneth Merten, according to the White House. Afterward he called Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

At 2:15, he spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and he called Mexican President Felipe Calderon at 2:23. And at 2:36, Obama talked with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters that Obama also planned to contact Haitian President Rene Preval and speak with other international partners about aid.

The devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake prompted the president to cancel his trip to Lanham, Md., to talk about clean energy jobs

6. If the buck stops with Obama...
that means taking all the blame as well as all the credit. Can't be for one and against the other.

7. You know this is great, and it ties into a right wing attack on the POTUS
They are complaining that he is reacting more quickly to the Haiti disaster than the xmas bomber. But people are dead and dying in Haiti! The President sees that he can help SAVE LIVES and that is why he is reacting so fast. With the bomber it was more having security do its job in making sure no other bomber was coming, and then a full analysis of what went wrong. Time was less of the essence.

This gives us a window to what makes the President tick. He wants to help.

Congress. There isn't any time to consider what could be better this is better and always will be until Republicans return. The amount of goodness we get out of the Presidency is the amount we actively work for. As Randi Rhodes even researched LBJ was publically detached from the Congressional process of legilating Medicare so they took the credit to their electorate and worked behind the scenes to get it passed. The bill weren't perfect then but perfected over time.

This is very positive.

Bush was an inhumane jerk when it came to helping Katrina victims, and others when disasters happened.

Obama makes us proud.
