2. Yes, Brown could win...
I really don't think some people understand how unpopular this healthcare bill has become.

Secret negotiations, outrageous deals to effectively buy votes, now exempting unions from the excise tax, etc, etc.

This is too confusing for people and they feel the wool is being pulled over their eyes.

I doubt the Dem's lose this seat, but they could.

If that happens, if Brown wins, HCR is dead.

6. It is called REALITY. Get real and give me your plan of how to pass what YOU want

with the DIVERSE caucus we have in Congress. We have waited 100 years to get something done, and a STUPID idea of stalling it now would mean the back burner for however many more decades. STUPID STUPID STUPID. They are negotiating and tweaking the bill, and it god damn well deserves a chance so we can get a START passed and continue to tweak it down the road. And the reason it is "unpopular" is because of corporate media and insurance co. attacks. IOW, what else is new? Stop helping the PUKES on this issue.

8. Actually, it's called a referendum on Obama's presidency. Cross your fingers.

do understand how unpopular the health care bill is. The whole HCR bill has been a disaster since Obama just sat back and let Congress butcher it. Union people in particular have become f---g fed up with the Democratic party the last 11 months.

4. Because only ONE poll shows him ahead. This will be a close race, but there is far from being lost.

For some weird reason, while yesterday was good for Coakley, the mood in the media, here, and on blogs has changed, and it is not clear what changed it.

5. I wonder who Tweety's 'source' was. Maybe s/he had read that one poll.
And since I posted, someone put a poll up on the front page showing Coakley ahead .

Regardless, it's pretty dicey. I know they're (we're) going full boar on this (and I'm even making calls from Seattle), so I'm optimistic. Cautiously.

10. Actually some internal D polls showed Brown ahead, too.
It is a much closer race than it should be. I think Coakley will pull it out but she won't have nearly the margin she should. She didn't campaign as aggressively as she should frokm the start. As one un-named D volunteer said she had too many lawyers advising her and not enough veteran campaigners.

12. Where'd you hear that? I heard on MSNBC that both the D & the R's internal
polls had Coakley ahead.

9. Because only Robo polls show it close and yesterday Rasmussen
was walking away from his poll on Fox giving Brown almost no chance of winning

11. This is GREAT news! If Brown wins then progressives win because it shows dems are horrible people!
Let's keep our fingers crossed because it is the sure way to defeat HCR and everything else we worked so hard to get but the dems can't (won't) get for us because they are corporatist whores.

GO BROWN. Defeat those awful democrats!!!!!!!

tweety's right and Lawrence O'Donnell saying Pres Obama has lost a lot of support in Mass and it will be a squeaker is true.

Will see how smart on the Whole Mass is in the election next Tuesday.

16. Coakley ran a poor campaign - Democrats must WORK to get elected, not
assume they we will win because the other side is stupid.

This is America - Stupid sells!
