The contrast is striking.... |
|
The quick, efficient response by the US government to the situation in Haiti.
The slow, inefficient response by the US government to the situation in New Orleans.
What Obama's administration has shown the past few days is that the US government failures with respect to Katrina were NOT a systemic failure in our government emergency and relief infrastructure....
... but were a willful act by an administration that wanted to portray the government as being unable to handle emergencies.
It is clear to most of us that conservatives want the American people to think that government is always inept, and so when they gain power, they go about PROVING it. It's their attempt to say "See? Government can't help you."
But Obama is proving them wrong.... and it is why they continually say "no" to EVERY SINGLE bill that comes before them in congress.
They, politically, have to do everything in their power to not let the American people see that government CAN work.

... I'm not sure that the Bush admin acted as maliciously as you do, but it is CLEAR they dropped the ball and the Obama admin is determined NOT to do the same thing. http://www.politico.com/politico44/wbarchive/whiteboard01152010.html

5. Clinton's FEMA was outstanding |
|
then it suddenly became totally incompetent during Bush and I bet if we need it during Obama's tenure it'll miraculously be outstanding again.
I'm convinced the Bush administration acted as maliciously as it looks like they did. At the very least.
