Poll question: Should MSNBC continue to give free air time to Harold Ford since he is running in NY? |
|
Harold Ford has made clear his intentions of running against incumbent Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. The Haiti tragedy had given Ford lots of free air time as an "analyst" for NBC and MSNBC. Why should Ford get his subservient lapdog face on TV for free at the same time he is mounting a Wall Street-financed challenge to Senator Gillibrand?
The question for DUers is, should the networks dump Harold Ford as a TV talking head now that he is planning to run against Kirsten Gillibrand?

I'm not a big fan of Gillibrand, but Ford is worse.

2. He was on MSNBC this morning for 15 minutes babbling his shit |
|
In the context of the Haiti tragedy, there was Ford talking about his youth and Memphis and how cute he looks.

4. I'd say New York Democrats definitely have a lesser of two evils choice to make |
|
and Gillibrand is definitely the lesser of the two evils.

I beleive that he has until the day he files. when he files, MSNBC will release him because to not do so becomes an in kind donation to his campaign and taints them badly.

5. Be very afraid of Ford |
|
Been trying to do a catch up on what he has been doing since he lost to Bob Corker in TN...As I mentioned before I worked for his campaign in TN as I was an office hold in our County Party. If Ford somehow is elected Sen. from NY he will be far worse then Lieberman. How would you like to see a Blue Dog in the WH? I guarantee that in where this is going. NY be very careful.

7. They should dump him IF he declares. Since he is just testing the waters |
|
and has already released some of the staff he hired a week or two ago, I doubt he'll be a candidate. He put his toe in the water and didn't find the water to his liking.

Harold always has a plan. he wasted no time after he lost to Corker, to get back in the saddle. And look what he has been up to...Fox, MSNBC I think there is another media outlet but can't remember which one...He has worked for the DNC..DLC and now Wall Street, he has created quite a resume...Harold can charm the pants off voters. He is a very ambitious man...Figured out a long time ago, he really likes the WH address and he would like it much better if it were his. Once he meets you he will remember you he might not get your name right but he will remember you.
It wouldn't suprise me one bit if he shows up in Haiti on some pretext not right away but sooner rather then later.

8. that's the thing though, has he formally declared? sounds like he... |
|
...is going to keep it unofficial for a while so that he can take advantage of the airtime.

9. The MSM is giving Ford free air time even though they know he plans to run |
|
This is the same thing they do when they show people like Bill Donohue of the tiny Catholic League, TV viewers think that Donohue speaks for all Catholics when he only represents a lunatic sliver in the RCC.
Ford is building his "gravitas" by being a TV talking head. We have several idiots like that on the Republican side.

13. if you have a clickable poll, don't phrase your poll question one way in the |
|
headline and the completely opposite way just before the poll.
