The Wingers Must Be Furious.....I hope

I like to give credit where credit is due and I appreciate George W. Bush joining this effort. Haiti needs all of the help they can get and the Bush folks know how to raise money. Good on them!

By Alister Bull Alister Bull – Sat Jan 16, 12:20 pm ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama, flanked by his predecessors George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, on Saturday said the two former presidents would lead a national drive to raise money for Haiti's earthquake survivors.

"By coming together in this way, these two leaders send an unmistakable message to the people of Haiti and to the people of the world. In these difficult hours, America stands united. We stand united with the people of Haiti," Obama said.

Haitian authorities believe as many as 200,000 died in Tuesday's earthquake that devastated the Caribbean nation, prompting a worldwide humanitarian response as rescuers race against time to save people still trapped in the rubble.

Obama, who has pledged an initial $100 million in quake relief, enlisted the help of Bill Clinton, a Democrat who is the United Nations' special envoy for Haiti, and former President George W. Bush, the Republican who proceeded him the White House, to spearhead private sector fund-raising efforts.

Hell, Ann Coulter and many of her followers even call HITLER a Liberal.

You know.

Because he loved Gays, Jews, Black People, Gypsies and Atheists so much.

I know I'll regret this later, but I'll google this... "Hitler was a Liberal." http://tinyurl.com/ygop8gk

16. "True Conservatism" is the modern day philosophers stone
and these political alchemists hold up each fresh face as the champion of "true conservatism", but when they only are able to turn lead into shit and not gold, this is not seen as a failure of conservatism, but rather that the once cherished hero failed to stay faithful to their "true conservatism"...

If Bush's icky money saves one Haitian life, gives one Haitian a glimmer of hope, rat's ass about its 'purity'.

33. Bush has a lot of bad karma to work off.....
And if that "icky money" actually goes to help someone rather than line the pockets of his buddies, then consider it paying down that karmatic debt.

8. If it's any consolation to the wingnuts
Arbusto W. Fuckstick was likely dragged into the fundraising effort kicking & screaming in protest. He'd rather be secluded in his Dallas McMansion sucking back Jack Daniels like there's no tomorrow & laying down fat lines on a mirror.

11. I'm not sure that's fair. I think he thinks if it will make America forget
or make up for the incompetence of Katrina every little bit will help. I'd like to see us cut him some slack on this one...

15. Fair or not
I still believe WhistleAss feels inconvenienced by being tasked with this fundraising effort. It can't be proved one way or another and it's just my opinion (and we all know about opinions). Also, I don't believe he cares much about his image, as sociopaths don't give a toss about accepting responsibility for their actions. You won't convince me that he possesses an ounce of altruism in his dissipated soul. I'm glad money is getting raised for rescue efforts in Haiti, but I remain unconvinced that he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart.

18. Yep, on THIS one, for now,
but his lame presentation was a chilly reminder of those awful eight years. His heart certainly wasn't in it, but if it helps out any Haitians, so be it.

Hey, how have you been? Long time no see!

17. Please...when did dumbya EVER do anything altruistic in his entire worthless life?
Somebody probably told him it was easy to get Cuban rum in Haiti

In a perverse sort of way, this could work AGAINST fundraising efforts. Libs/Progressives may not give to anything dipstick is involved with, and the wingers won't give a red cent to Big Dawg, so it's lose/lose IMHO

22. If Libs/Progressives don't give because Bush is involved,
then they have no business calling themselves liberal or progressive. This is no time for that petty kind of thinking.

19. It would be rather sad of us
As a country - if we reject caring for people who are hurting and have NO resources to help themselves - because of the face/person/name asking for the money.

Shame on the left and the right if we behave that way.

I'm sure the average child in Haiti tonight gives a rats ass who is coming to their aid - as long as they don't go to bed hungry another night. If Bush can get people to open their wallets that Clinton can't then kudos to him. And vice versa.

30. Where was all the outrage and protests from these butthats
prior to January of 2009?

I ask them this, and it leaves 95% of them mumbling incoherently ...

Yeah, some of them are for real Ron Paulites, but 95% of the "teabaggers" are republicans who supported this moron to the bloody end, and are just throwing hissy fits for not reason other than partisan stupidity, with their general racial insecurity bleeding out along the way ...
