If Brown wins, will the repukes start promoting him as a Presidential candidate? |
|
Considering the stunning nature of such an upset, it might likely come down to him and Romney in 2012.

2. Don't forget Thune and Sarah Palin |

But I think Romney will be history - too old and too connected to Romney Care.

What scares me is someone mentioned Palin/Brown.

It was only a matter of time before we were going to see that out there. But what can you expect from these retards? They put Joe the Plumber on the same pedestal.

7. he's way too liberal for that |

He is pro-choice. He'd never be nominated on a national ticket.

One of Coakley's campaign ads states that he would deny rape victims access to emergency contraceptives.
He said he was merely trying to protect Catholic hospitals from having to dispense them...although I do believe he said something to the effect that a rape victim can just get in the car and drive to another hospital.
Smug ass little bastard.

17. I don't generally rely on one's campaign fliers to tell the absolute truth about their opponents |
|
He opposes partial birth abortion (which the vast majority of people do, democrat, republican, or independent), he supports parental consent laws (which is reprehensible), but he believes the decision to abort should be between a woman and her doctor.
He proposed an amendment to allow individuals working in the ER to not personally dispense EC for religious purposes, but not to turn them away from the ER outright, as the ad suggests. When the amendment failed, he voted to require all relevant personnel to dispense the EC.
If you can find a quote or reference of him saying that rape victims can get in a car and go to another hospital, I will take it all back. I'm sure the state senate transcripts are freely accessible, so I'll check back later tonight.

18. as far as I can tell, based on his position statements |
|
It is very easy to dismiss him as a "far-right teabagger," and attempt to align him with the likes of Sarah Palin. He is "far right" for massachusetts, but on the national scale, he is a fairly moderate republican. This is why he has the large appeal that he has now, not just among republicans, but among independents as well. The teabaggers have chosen to latch on to him because he promises to deny the 60th vote for HRC, but as soon as they realize that he isn't going to follow through on all of their "goals," they will throw him under the bus.

9. I was just thinking this morning that even if he loses... |
|
they might start grooming him for 2012.
I mean, who else have they got? Although it's still way too early to tell.
But maybe they'd even try a Brown/Palin ticket...
who knows...

11. Honestly, it wouldn't be a bad move for him |
|
There's no way he'd win reelection in 2012. And the Republican field that year is weak.
