CNN being called on spreading lies

CNN is Spreading Lies Again. Don't Fall For It

by askew

Ed Henry just aired a report that WH Democratic sources don't think Coakley will win. Then, he clarified on Twitter that CNN never heard any WH sources claim Coakley will lose. Of course, many here jumped on the quote as an excuse to smear and blame Obama/Rahm.

This should be a lesson to everyone that jumps on these unsourced rumors without waiting for any confirmiation.

The report was refuted by Bill Burton at the WH:

The President is in MA today because he believes Martha Coakley is the right person for the job and indeed will be the next senator from MA.

I wholeheartedly disagree: CNN: Obama advisors expect Coakley to lose

Axelrod has come out publicly and forcefully stating Coakley will win.

"I'm confident she's going to win," said Axelrod, who spoke during an evening briefing for reporters. Axelrod said President Barack Obama, who he said was only just invited by Coakley to come to the state and will travel there Sunday, will help make the difference. "In the polling I've seen," he said, the president's approval rating is "in the 60s."

Ed Henryis now "clarifying" his lies on twitter:

@BLESSEDROSS to be clear, obama advisers themselves did NOT tell me Coakley will lose. CNN is reporting the obama advisers told other Dems

Ed is getting hammered for reporting unsourced rumors. Anyone who wants to add to the criticism, you can twitter him @edhenrycnn

8. Ever since you hear from people who told you their postings
are never put up on the Ticker because they are for the dems I knew CNN had it's head up the butt of any republican they could find.

Go to the Ticker and try to post a very good argument against republicans it stays in limbo --awaiting moderation.

"On flight back, WH spksmn Robt Gibbs said "we think Coakley will win this race," but WH making contingency plans to pass health care if not....."

.... and CNN is currently behind on the news that Coakley is starting to trend back up .... info I'll share later unless someone's already posted it.

5. Ahhh, yes, the Ed Henry of the infamous "make the news" style of journalism...
Whenever Ed is doing his thing, I remember this:

"I was heading into this event with the same strategy: make news on something unexpected (I won't tell you which topics I was working on cause it would ruin the surprise for a future presser or interview with the president)."

http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/03/25/henry.obama/
(No ego at work in this piece from Ed, lol)

It sounds like Ed didn't learn a lesson from the last time he was hammered, he still thinks "making the news" is journalism.

He is pathetic.

11. Not just CNN. "Agenda in peril, Obama fights to save Coakley" (msnbc)
Such bullshit, trying to influence the results of an election, IMHO.

13. Shameless. He deserves to get hammered for this because he apparently
Didn't learn his lesson. From attempting to make news instead of being a real journalist.
