Hope, work, and pray like hell but...
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 05:00 PM by jefferson_dem
it's looking more and more like tomorrow will be rough for our side.

Nate Silver just projected Brown as 75:25 favorite.

All polls other than DK are hideouos - http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latestpolls/

Don't even go to Intrade.

Reports are that Coakley is not able able to fill up her rally venues, even today!

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer but.. Hunker down. Brace yourself.

While we keep the faith, we must be realistic.

2. Yeah. I changed my expectations. Brown is going to win big.
I thought Coakley had it - but the polls are clear. She isn't gaining any traction, she's losing it. She's going to get clobbered.

3. That sucks. Losing Teddy Kennedy's seat to a teabagger is a major blow.
Both psychologically and in reality.

10. If that happens, I may need to go dark (from unfriendly media at least) for 24 hours or so.
The pundrity class chatter will be literally unbearable.

Thankfully, a Brown win will not necessarily come as a big surprise so the press may skip right over the "ZOMG!" narrative to the "What now...how fucked are the Dems and Obama" narrative.

13. Who knows. Maybe Coakley will win big and everyone in the press will have egg on their face.
Because I can tell you right now the discussion isn't, "What if Brown wins...", it's, "How and why did Brown win..."

They've all but thrown dirt on Coakley's political grave.

14. I don't know...define "BIG".
I think it'll be closer than the polls, and it could go either way. I'd say that whoever wins, it's probably something like 48-47.

8. This is pretty much a repeat of the 2008 election.
But Coakley acting as McCain and Brown as Obama.

15. I just saw the face of the woman trapped in that bank in Haiti.....
.... the woman I'd been hearing about for days .... the woman who's husband had been keeping a vigil by the rubble and who never gave up hope.

Sorry for posting something unrelated .... but it puts things into perspective doesn't it?

Silly little Senate race.
