Spent time on the phones here in Michigan the last few days calling Mass voters. Most people I spoke with were with Coakley. Many saw Brown as a smooth talking populist liar.
I think the key is getting the Dem voters out to the polls.

i don't see it happening. That's the price of over-confidence, bad candidate and a very high percentage of stupid people in this country.

Unless you are Coakley's inside pollster, your reading of the data reported by the media is of little value at this point.

can be useful it all depends on the sample size, the randomness of the sample, the confidence interval. they can be off. but generally you can take statistical data to the bank

34. I believe that statistical data is important in campaigns. |
|
That's why politicians count so much on their internal pollsters--but their information is not what is generally available to the public.

Funny thing though..
The right wing bat shit crazies will get what they want, and the Left Wing bat shit crazies will get jack shit, as usual.
You'd think the losers of the deal with get smart at some point, and realize that if they are gonna be in the big tent, they can't control the whole thing from their corner, and think they will come out as winners.
In the end, they are tools... and get this..... get jack shit for it, before, during and after!

Want to know my other predictions?
I Stated that Obama would win the presidency in October of 2007,
and also stated that John McCain would be the Opposition candidate, back in Early November of 2007.
I don't believe I have had any incorrect prediction, although of course, there's always a first time.....

Also this is the crap that happens in INFIGHTING occurs in the party....i.e. the Democratic Party. The Repukes have been sitting back coming up with a strategy to take the Senate away from us and we are disagreeing with the President's policies, on DU (some of these folks) downing the President, downing the health care bill.....just being plain Debbie Downers.
I hope and pray that this candidate pulls this out in MA but I believe as Democrats, we need to start looking at ourselves....regardless if this race is Won or Lost.

The only thing I fear is all of those who are doing premature eulogies and analysis.... as it plays into the self fulfilling prophecy mindset.
I think that part isn't needed until Wednesday; these after action report.
I realize folks want to be right, and so are going with the media manipulation/promotion tea leaves, but I don't think that Democrats should engage in such, no matter how tempting.
Too bad we aren't more disciplined. But then, that has been part of the problem since Obama's election; we have been dissing him left and right since, and haven't stopped to take a breath. It is quite sad, what we Wimpy Democrats do with power. I'll say this, the congress, and when we call them spineless, they are truly representative of us; as we are just as spineless.

Wishing and hoping that M. Coakley wins tomorrow otherwise, Teddy would be turning in his grave at such an atrocity!

33. I don't think Californians are bat shit crazy, but then...there is "Arnold" |
|
how that clown was allowed into office and has remained in office, makes you wonder...what the hell were people thinking? And I'm not throwing stones...here in NY we had Pataki & Rudy...so lets just say anything is possible. NJ now has that clown Christie...I can almost understand why he won, NJ is so overtaxed, it's sad, and in these economic times, voters were looking to take it out on someone and they did. It's too bad.
Brown is a total dick. He's despicable. Along with his other faults, he also heard that "rape joke", too. I don't know who he thinks he's kidding. So, I'm hoping Coakely pulls it off. Democrats outnumber Republicans 3 to 1 in Mass. So I still think she has a good chance, if the base shows up. If they don't, that will be a real problem, the party will have to address for future elections.
No one knows for sure what's going to happen. Talking heads can only serve 2 purpose...either to discourage voters because it's a "lost" cause, and they give up and don't vote or to piss people off just enough, that they want to prove them wrong and they get out and vote.
Tonight we will be the only time we will know for sure, otherwise it's all guess work.

guy. It would be horrible if he wins the late Senator Ted Kennedy's seat. I am hoping that the people of MA will vote for the Dem nominee.
Please people of MA, vote for Coakley so that the Health Care bill can be passed! Even if it is not what you envisioned, it is still better than nothing!

43. About 2 weeks ago I saw a poll from right-wing blog Politico... |
|
and it was odd because another poll had Coakley with a much wider lead.
Thing is, that poll from Politico somehow became the 'norm' in the media and suddenly everyone is making Coakley's loss a forgone conclusion and upping the blame game.
It's almost like the media wants to treat Coakley like a loser so perhaps Massachusetts voters get discouraged and stay home.
