Poll question: Do you think the corporate media is purposely trying to swing the vote to Brown?
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 07:31 PM by senseandsensibility
It sure seems that way to me. But, I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't tuned into this contest at all until a week ago. I'm on the west coast, and assumed Teddy's seat was safe.:( I also don't watch much corporate media, so I don't know what they've been doing for the last few weeks. But today I was off work, and I couldn't believe the propaganda, even on MSNBC.

1. Most definitely... that's where the story is
Even if you set aside the issue of corporate agendas, there is no story if Coakley wins. She wins, it was closer than expected but everything remains basically status quo. If she loses, they have a storyline that they can push for months.

2. Good point
They've been pushing the Dems lose big in 2010 for months, with little or nothing to back it up.

LOL
Maybe it takes something obvious like this to unite DU. I noticed that no one's voted NO so far.

8. I totally agree!!
I've only been watching the Haiti coverage, as soon as they segway into politics in Ma, I turn the channel with a quickness. Yes, even MSNBC is in on the propaganda, its sicking. I can't even imagine how bad faux news is spinning this story and I will never find out because thats one channel I will never turn to, ever!! I pray that Coakley wins, this is too important, just imagine the spin and propaganda if we lose tomorrow.:puke:

10. This is why Congress needs to investigate the media's right-wing bias
Rupert Murdoch, Brit "Helmethead" Hume, and a lot of other media people need to be hauled before Congress to answer some very tough questions.

13. That certainly are
Sometimes they have to do something to make the news, otherwise they wouldn't have anything to analyze over and over again.

14. At a minimum.
I'm starting to wonder if they've found some new way to steal an election and the media is providing 'cover'.

16. It's obvious! All they do is talk about why she LOST (past tense). They haven't said one
negative thing about Brown even though he got caught lying about knowing the teabaggers, smiled at the curling iron comment, changed his position on abortion rights, etc.

20. I heard him talk about why Coakley "lost." It's really shameless how hard they're pimping Brown and
trying to destroy Coakley.

21. I'm sure they are doing that. But if Brown wins will it really make any difference? The damage...
will already have been done.
