1. She'll be a footnote, but her monumental ineptitude should be the stuff of legend

2. And ends with her. If your campaign sucks, chances are you'll lose.
I don't see this as a huge referendum on Democrats or health care reform or anything else. I see it as a weak candidate getting defeated after running a weak campaign.

3. That's my view of it too
She practically gifted the seat to the GOP.

4. I wonder if she really wanted this seat
too late now, but I wonder if any of her primary opponents would have wanted it badly enough.

5. I was wondering -- how did it come about that she was the candidate? Do
you know?

I think the problem begins with the Dem Party who, one would think, would put forward a better candidate (granted, I don't know who was available to choose from). Then I blame her and the party for slacking, and ultimately the apathetic voters who didn't bother to vote.

16. DId she run a better campaign then? I'm just thinking they (we) could have
come up with a better candidate.

8. She went on vacation?
They like to say "the blame game" but it does need to be analyzed why she lost.

And, you're right..it starts with the candidate.

11. But it doesn't end there
The Whitehouse, the DLC and the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee didn't exactly cover themselves with glory. Now everyone is trying to cover their ass. They're a bunch of chumps, to let this bozo steal a safe seat out from under their noses.

19. There is plenty of blame to go around but I agree with you. She ran like she was an incumbent.
This is such a crappy night. I am going to have to avoid the papers and certain channels for a while.
