Should we start thinking of Primary Challenge to Jim Webb ? |
|
he wants no votes on health care until Brown gets in the Senate. why don't we try to get someone more liberal to represent us in Virginia ?
if we nominate Webb again maybe there will be protest votes for the Republican . by nominating someone more liberal we can keep the liberals who might protest vote for the Republican because Democrats aren't liberal enough ?

notice nobody is saying we should get rid of Webb and try to get someone more liberal which is what we need to pass more liberal bills out of congress for the President to sign.
most are saying this is the best we can get in places like Virginia.
yet they fucking expect and blame Obama for not getting more liberal bills out.

I forget if the election was 2004 or 2006?

Unfortunately, our beloved state still leans right ... but it's changing - especially in the more populated, northern areas.

or any other blue state. Democrats win by being moderate in Virginia.
I bet it is the same for most purple and red states. Instead of playing off ideologies, you focus on bread and butter issues and commonsense solutions to win voters.

17. You are correct there. |
|
You are lucky to get any democrat elected. The only reason you get the democratic governors is because the republican makes such a damn mess the people know they have to elect a democrat to straighten it out. There are certain little pockets where you find democrats. But mostly Virginia is a republican state.

I actually think that none of the three should be challenged. But, it someone progressive had the same chance of winning, Webb and Lincoln are problem votes, when Kerry isn't.

We now have a Repub Governor, Repub Lt. Gov, and a Tea Bagger Attorney General (who wanted to pass a law requiring women to report miscarriages to the state to be sure they weren't having abortions and home schools his kids while supporting cuts in public education...oh and fought against a law to make cock-fighting a felony because it was a "Virginia tradition"), we are gonna lose between 2 and 4 Dem congressmen this year, and in two years the Repubs will get the state senate back...
Yeah...its over!

Voters are voting for conservatives because they are bad at liberals for being too conservative. Voters want liberal policies and are voting for conservatives to get them. So, to respond, we need to run liberals in order to stop liberals from voting for conservatives.
It's crazy enough to work.
