I suggest you stop insulting the voters of Massachussetts
Because I don't think ANY ONE OF US lives in a state with a monopoly on good political sense.
People in Massachussetts were PISSED OFF. Whether you think it's justified or whether you think it was only about local issues is irrelevant.
What IS relevant is the reason. And someone smarter than any one of you bloviating on this message board needs to examine the reasons and figure out what to do about them.
Or YOUR state will be the next Massachussetts.

3. Amen. I'm a Southerner and i've been sickened by the hate.
I know the surest way to alienate and repel citizen/voters is to condescend. The voters need results. JOBS. Security. No playing around.

4. Republicans have voted against everything related to jobs and unemployment.
How does electing a teabagger help?

6. No one is here for insult....not even simpleton Freeper
Massachusetts had voted. It's now a history. What we learn from it would benefit us...not what we get embarrassed by it.

22. Or Alabama.
It sure is fun to bust ass to get Democratic party members elected and when it doesn't work as well as people think it should you get to hear about how much you suck and should have worked harder and given more. Every year I get closer to the point of saying "Fuck it. All I do from here on out is vote D and that's it.".
It's doubly frustrating to hear the nonsense from your own side when you're still pissed off at all the jackasses you have to deal with when phonebanking/doorknocking.

13. My state very well could be the next Mass.
I live in Illinois. How do we keep the governorship after Blagojevitch? Never mind that the last republican governor here is in jail.

Did Burris purchase his seat? The republicans want this one just as badly as they wanted Teddy's seat. Remember, it was Obama's seat.

We have a lot of corruption here, and few jobs. We have a lot of red, rural areas that could put Illinois republicans over the top.

People here are pissed. I don't blame them. C'mon Obama. People are pissed in your own state. It isn't just the local messes. They are concerned about the direction of your Presidency. And we loved and supported the local favorite son. We still want to do that.

14. Well if you voted for Brown, no need for us to blame anyone, however.
M.Coakley was not serious in her campaign, she was piss poor and the guy won!

Still, the President should be able to get his health care reform through and since when 60 votes are needed. Am confused!

15. The fact that MA went
for Brown IS an indicator of all the other states.
I believe our population is becoming fearful, quick to believe fearmongers on the RW media and is becoming more self centered. There does not appear to be a sense of the common good anymore.
MA has a health care system but I am sure all voters there are aware the rest of the nation does not and the national effort for that was in the balance.

Sure they voted their anger - but they also voted for something - a more selfish, corporate agenda. That is where the nation is headed at full speed.

20. If i was a MA resident i would have NOT voted OR held my Nose...
For me when i read Coakley i honest am not sure i would have even gone out to even vote (assuming i was an MA resident). I think the same could have been said about many democrats in that state....so i dont think you can blame the democrats since it was likely the energized republicans that put Brown in office.

However, i will admit that in the final hour of voting i prolly could see myself dragging myself to the voting booth, holding my nose and voting Coakley...as pissed that i was doing so...maybe...it just bothers me the party just doesnt give a damn about their constituents until it is an election year and then they pretend to listen....it just so annoying..where are the REAL politicans like Weiner or Grayson that actually stand for waht they believe in.

17. As a Mass Votoer...
I worked for AG Coakley. She was by far the best person.... It comes down to work and jobs. Browns people and money and the out of staters overwhelmed the AG. Also, DC let us down on jobs! Give me a WPA not Wall Street Relief! Add a Work Progress Administration with 5 Million new jobs and the Democratic Party will crush the Republicans. For the foreseeable future. Loyal in Mass!

Semper Fidalis,

Ed

23. Great post!
Unfortunately, few people on this board are open to the possibility that the Senate HCR Bill really sucks and a majority of voters don't want it. Scott ran saying he would vote against the bill and got elected in a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans 3 to 1.

Old adage: When you're in a hole, stop digging. We need to abandon the Senate bill and start over - it's a recipe for disaster in November.

24. MA just joins CT in being the "supposed" blue state DU loves to hate.
Hey, we get it up here. Sometimes blue states don't always act they way they are expected to. Maybe a better candidate could have shown that they cared about the people. Brown obviously misled most of the voters that voted yesterday. But there are signs there that the Dem party needs to change some things. Insulting a state will only cloud that.
