There sure were a lot of obstacles standing in the way of health care reform |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 02:38 PM by CreekDog
1) losing Ted Kennedy 2) needing 60 votes for a non-reconciliation bill 3) the blue dogs' opposition to anything mainstream Democrats would be satisfied with 3) Ted Kennedy's vote being #60 4) Joe Lieberman's vote being #60 5) Ben Nelson's vote being #60 6) Robert Byrd's vote being #60 when he is very old and very ill
...and many, many more
However, knowing all those obstacles were there, and we all saw them long ago.
Doesn't it seem like there was never a Plan B should anything go wrong? To me, yesterday's election and today's dithering and hem-hawing shows that there never was a Plan B --or else they would have trotted it out.
There wasn't one.
Are you telling me that while flying through the Bermuda Triangle of politics (health care reform), Rahm did not have a Plan B and didn't have congress on board with one should one event appear which could derail the whole thing?
Are you f#*&ing kidding me? :wtf:

3. That deal Obama made with Billy Tauzin was an incredibly tough one to overcome. |
|
What could we really do once we dealt the public option off the table right from the beginning, in exchange from 20 billion and "no anti-HCR ads" from the pharmaceutical industry.

6. No, that wasn't Plan B |
|
because they are fumbling around trying to figure out what Plan B is.
i could have handled not having my favorite alternative being Plan B --at least if they freaking had a Plan B.
but now after some tense meetings, they are going to pass the thing in pieces. we'll see.
they don't know.
please give me some confidence that you guys know what you are doing!

it's time to step down. Thank you, Sen. Byrd, for all you have done but it's time to retire.

I would be fired. Our elected officials should be held to the same standards. It's time for Byrd to go. And anyone else that is ill or of a certain age where it affects their job production.

10. There indeed were lots of obstacles in the way of health care.. |
|
Well Care, Choice Point, Humana, Blue Cross, Sen Baucus, Joe Lieberman, Sen Nelson. Huge payouts and bribery, Rham Emanuel, Goldman Sachs, Tim Geithner, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to name a few.
Pres Obama should be ashamed to have his name anywhere near this POS Bill.
