Loyalty is for Kings and Despots Not Presidents!
We elected a president to serve us, not for us to stand by him as he sells us out to the highest bidder. From the moment he broke his first promise to us, he began to lose his mandate for governing and it is not our job to prop him up when he falls for doing just that.

So I am not going to be loyal to Obama or any other politician when they no longer serve the interests of the People. This is not a monarchy and those who do not serve their constituents should not be in office.

President Obama has three more years to learn that lesson. Will he?

1. I am loyal to the ideals of the President, like health care reform.
That's dead now, so many here can celebrate along with the Republicans.

2. More of the same idiotic bitching....
Goddamn you people just can't help yourselves. This isn't about loyalty. This is about REAL people trying to get things done.

Kucinich can't get anything done. Dean can't get anything done. They are not electable. They are political cartoons. You have to work to change anything, and it's long, hard, slow work.

I'm fucking sick of people that do nothing but bitch and moan about being betrayed. It's so fucking old.

I don't know what you expect. I guess Obama is just supposed to snap his fingers and the whole world will live in a liberal haze for the rest of time. Wake up. The real world is calling.

5. Ok...
So Obama has not accomplished ANYTHING, just because he hasn't made the world the utopia so many people here wanted?

8. Which utopia, by the way?
They do not all have the same priorities.

Welcome to DU by the way, and I fully agree with the sentiments you expressed in your post upthread.

13. Thanks for the welcome....
But I've been here since about 2004 or so. I just don't have the time to post as often as I like, but I try to stop in once a day. :)

15. No. Obama has made the world Utopia.
He has diminished our civil rights by supporting immunity for ATT and companies that spy on us. Obama has expanded the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere for starters. And God only knows what his position is on the public option depending on what day of the week it is. It's all so good.

:sarcasm:

9. Apparently you and I have different definitions of "anything."
To you, ending the Iraq War, passing the stimulus bill, passing Lily Ledbetter, setting a date for getting out of Afghanistan, shutting down Gitmo, banning torture, and the hundred other things Obama has done aren't "anything." :eyes:

You don't know what people do outside this board

Nope. No one expects that. I don't suppose you've spent any time whatsoever trying to understand what the progressives do want have you?

Enjoy your impotent rage.

7. Funny, since you seem to want a dictator.
Somebody who can impose the agenda you approve of regardless of how politics actually works. Blaming Obama for the Republican obstruction of everything is the hight of folly.

12. Voting gets people in your party elected or causes them to lose
Most conservatives are smart enough to vote for the party that most reflects their beliefs as the opposite party ie dems is viewed as worse many dems seem to lack that level of intelligence. That is why we most often end up with presidents like W for 8 years.

14. Who appointed those Supreme Court judges that just gutted our Democracy?
Think it's a good idea to in any way shape or form help the GOP get a few more appointments?
