She sounds very nutty on that tape and Specter sounds real annoyed.

in politics.

13. She's a welfare queen & a hypocrite
On the upside, her propensity for spewing garbage and talking points may well eliminate her district in MN. I can't believe she has too many friends on the redistricting committee.

14. As a woman as well, I ask,
are you effing kidding me?

Stop clutching pearls. She was a talking point express.

This has nothing to do with Hillary and everything to do with what REPRESENTATIVE Bachmann does. Bachmann is no Hillary. Please don't martyr Bachmann by using Hillary Clinton's name. All women are not the same, especially in politics.

15. No I'm not kidding, 1st and foremost I'm a woman, and no matter what
women have it much harder in politics, he might as well of said to her to "shut up and know your place". I don't care if a woman has an R or a D next to her name, no man should ever speak to her as if she's a disobedient child.

16. Are you in politics?
Should all men sit down and shut up because she is a female politician? See -- I can do the red herring game too.

When did offering to treat a woman like a lady become a bad thing? He was not treating her with disrespect at all.

What would you liked him to say? She was talking over him left and right. A person who respects other people doesn't do that.
Maybe you would be happy with gender neutral terminology? Please, he is an older man trying to be respectful to a woman who was not doing so.

STOP defending Michelle Bachmann. She isn't being held down. She isn't the lightning rod of todays feminism. She wants to give the government a say in your womb.

17. Would you of felt the same way if he had an R next to his name and she had a D next to hers? IMO
you and too many others make excuses about how women are treated in politics.

so please don't make such a broad assumption.

I made no excuse. Michelle was being incredibly rude.

22. He could have easily said, "please stop being rude".
His age is no excuse, by the way; my father is older than he is and still smart enough to know that you can't get away with that sort of nonsense in a debate.

The rest of your post (including your attempt at a red herring) makes no sense. No one is defending Bachmann - they are, as am I, criticizing Specter for utilizing an old, sexist put-down that he would never have attempted with a male politician.

Oddly, in this instance, some women can see beyond the nastiness that is Michelle Bachmann and focus on the irritation that is Alan Specter. There were no angels in this scenario.

20. HillGal, I don't think you understand this situation.
Arlen Spector would have told a man not to interrupt, if a man acted like she did. He would have told a man behaving like that to be a gentleman. She was rude, and was not being truthful. She wouldn't say how she voted. She was just spewing talking points. Being female did not have anything to do with how he treated her; you should get some thicker skin and try to be objective and listen to the audio again.

Also, listen how Sean Hannitity edited the recording in the second audio posted here. That should give you a hint as to how this was played out.

I'm offended that Michelle Bachmann is a woman, a stupid, clueless, rude poor excuse of a woman.

12. She's a blabbing talking point machine.
She uses big words like "prosperity", "creating jobs", and "freedom". But if any of that comes from her heart, I'd be astounded.

Hell, even her telling Specter that she is a lady sounds like a talking point.

It's people like her that want to make me disown the United States. How could any culture create such a creepy individual! I wouldn't want to be associated with her in any way; not as an American, not as a human being, not as a living entity! If demons exist, she is living proof of one who's been possessed by one. Stupid sprays out of her like a leak in a hose. Careful not to get any on you.
