Democrats won control of the House early Wednesday after a dozen years of Republican rule |
|
This was 2006. Over 4 years ago. This is what Pelosi said about the results:
-----
"From sea to shining sea, the American people voted for change," declared Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the hard-charging California Democrat in line to become the nation's first female House speaker.
"Today we have made history," she said, "now let us make progress."
-----
Not a whole hell of a lot has happened. Obama may be lightning rod for some the anger in America right now, but Dems haven't been doing shit for "change" for a hell of a long time now. Mass shouldn't be a surprise.

1. Well, they raised the minimum wage from 5.15 an hour. |

And as a minimum wage worker in Indiana at the time, that meant a hell of a lot to me and my husband.

2. that's totally awsome for you |

unfortunately with new Scotus decision, and their ability to buy politicians, they'll be rolling minimum wage back soon enough.
We have become a nation of short term visions. All we see and want is what happens immediately with out playing it out in our heads and trying to foresee long term effects.
We need to roll back the Scotus decision and completely dominate the house and Senate w/o any Blue dogs. Then we might see some change for progressives. I'm guessing your wage would increase significantly in the long term.
We need to unite and organize, which I think was the President's job, and we need to simply make the republican party extinct. Period.
