1. People do not have to incorporate to pool their money and buy political ads
The problem with this ruling is that it gives corporations the same rights as individuals, which they should not have, not that it gives corporations more rights than individuals.

If somebody wants to incorporate to protect personal assets from business debt, or whatever, they certainly should. But I hope nobody spends $89 to do something they are already allowed to do for free.

Independent Expenditures

Independent expenditures provide yet another way to support Federal candidates. An independent expenditure is money spent for a communication that expressly advocates the election or defeat of a clearly identified Federal candidate. It is "independent" only if the individual making the expenditure does not coordinate or consult in any way with the candidate or campaign (or agent of the candidate or campaign) benefiting from the communication. Independent expenditures are not considered contributions and are unlimited. You may spend any amount on each communication as long as the expenditure is truly independent.

You may, for example, pay for an advertisement in a newspaper or on the radio urging the public to vote for the candidate you want elected. Or you may produce and distribute posters or yard signs telling people not to vote for a candidate you oppose.

When making an independent expenditure, you must include a notice stating that you have paid for the communication and that it is not authorized by any candidate's committee. ("Paid for by John Doe and not authorized by any candidate's committee.") Additionally, once you spend more than $250 during a calendar year on independent expenditures with respect to a given election, you must file a report with the Federal Election Commission (either FEC Form 5 ), or a signed statement containing the same information).

Because this brief explanation does not cover all you need to know about independent expenditures, contact the Commission for more information.

Acting as a Group

If you and other individuals act together as a group to conduct activities to influence a Federal election, the group may become a "political committee." In general, a group that raises or spends over $1,000 per year to influence Federal elections must register, keep records on financial transactions and file reports on the committee's activities.

If you are interested in forming a group to participate in Federal elections and anticipate raising or spending more that $1,000 during a calendar year, you should write or phone the Commission and request materials to register the group as a political committee.

4. But can one get the write off, if they are not incorporated?
I'm just saying that we need to come up with ways to be able to give till it hurts
to protect our democracy from facism. That's what I'm saying.

We can lament, but we also need to get active.

We are millions strong, and we should be able to compete
if we really try hard at it.....
or that's what I'm hoping!

9. Political advertising shouldn't be deductible
for corporations, since it is non deductible for individuals. I didn't see anything in the ruling that would indicate otherwise, although I could be wrong. Before corporate contributions to political parties was restricted, was that deductible?

I agree with you that we should all be vigilant and creative about protecting our democracy.

5. I'm forming my corporation called Hawkeye-X, Inc.

6. That's cool and all but the problem is the wealth disparity
We all can incorporate, that's entirely aside from the point.

7. I understand that.....
Just trying to come up with something assertive,
apart from everything else that can be done.

This Ruling is a problem in the making that cannot be solved easily,
if at all...but you can't blame me for trying. :(

10. Not at all Frenchie. All I can come up with myself is willfully defaulting and minimal spending our
way to a depression to stop the flow of currency and kill them off.

The agony would be ungodly but so is chemo sometimes. I wish we'd let it collapse in 08 rather than come to this, I had hoped we could keep the bubble inflated long enough to address some infrastructure issues so we would have a way back out but corporate rule is so unacceptable to me that I'd just bring it all down instead.
