Mort Zuckerman is a sleaze
No that's not fair. He's a lying sleaze. Saw him on MSNBC this morning trashing the President. First, attacking any concept of healthcare reform and I love when a billionaire tells me that the current system is ok. Then he started going after the stimulus package saying that it didn't work, despite almost every economist saying that it did, and parroting every GOP talking point on it. And finally he says that Obama's approval rating is in the mid-forties, even though the lowest actually has him at 49% and most put him in the low to mid 50s, and claiming that it is the lowest for a first year president ever, despite that both Reagan and Clinton were lower. Does this man have any shame?

5. I saw him too and thought he made some great points
He said Obama has focused more on politics than on policy. I agree. I am sick to death of hearing about working in a bipartisanship fashion. It's a useless goal. Obama needs to focus on POLICY. Forget the GOP.

7. But he didn't say Obama should forget bipartisanship
In fact he was saying exactly the opposite and was pushing for Obama to be more centerist.

As far as being focused more on politics that on policy, I disagree. I think it is exactly the opposite. Had he been more focused on politics, he would have forgotten about healthcare reform months ago.

8. Bipartisanship IS politics
Forging ahead with health care, etc is POLICY.

and abandoned bipartisanship in the process.

16. So I assume you oppose the plan to use reconciliation

That Reid and Pelosi are allegedly working on. Do you prefer a bipartisan approach instead?

13. Well he would be wrong then.
He focused more on policy than politics and thus the reason that some pretty damn good things he has been trying to do have been demonized by both the people on the right and left. If he focused more on politics, he would have done a better job of pointing out how screwed this country is and will be even harder if they don't do something to reform health care, for just one example.

The Republicans are engaged in full on throttle politics. The president is too busy dealing with policy to be bothered. And that has been his mistake.

10. I agree with you
I didn't see him on MSNBC, but I think he's a sleaze because he donated to Roy Blunt in September. I'm sure with the new SCOTUS ruling, Zuckerman will now assure his buddy Roy becomes my Senator.

19. Mort Zuckerman crushed my union campaign which led to grave personal financial loss.
As a striking teacher, Zuckerman (a university trustee) smeared the union and strikers in his publications and met with other university trustees, the group of whom agreed to spy on the union and its supporters electronically and eventually fire strikers for trying to organize a union (against the U.N. Charter on Human Rights)

Zuckerman is (literally) a public enemy. Maybe not #1, but definitely in the top 100.
