AR-Sen: Blanche Lincoln BEGGING for primary challenge

AR-Sen: Blanche Lincoln BEGGING for primary challenge Mon Jan 25, 2010 at 09:10:03 AM PST
Just when you think Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Wal-Mart) can't get any worse, she proves you wrong.

Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) said Thursday that she is backing Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) attempt to block planned EPA greenhouse gas rules, and an aide to Murkowski said there are "several" other Democrats supporting the Alaska senator as well.

Murkowski fears EPA regulation of greenhouse gas emissions would harm the economy, and Lincoln, who faces a tough reelection fight this year, issued a statement Thursday that echoes Murkowski’s concerns.

"I am very concerned about the burden that EPA regulation of carbon emissions could put on our economy and have questions about the actual benefit EPA regulations would have on the environment," Lincoln said in a prepared statement.

It wasn't enough for Lincoln to take the lead in opposition to good health care reform legislation in the Senate, vowing to join Republicans in a filibuster of any bill with a public option. It wasn't enough that she voted for all of Bush's tax cuts, and continues to be an avowed opponent of the estate tax (gotta protect the Wal-Mart heirs). It's not enough that she supported the bankruptcy reform bill, despite representing a poor state. It's not even enough that she's a co-chair of Third Way -- the successor organization of corporatist Democrats now that the DLC is dead.

2. I don't know....

He's been hanging out with a Chinese state owned solar company. Not that he's doing anything wrong but the Republicans will use it against him anyway.

CTDC Management Meets With General Wesley Clark in New York
HONG KONG, Sept. 18, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- China Technology Development Group Corporation (Nasdaq:CTDC) ("we" or "the Company"), a provider of solar energy products and solutions in China, today announced that the management met with General Wesley K. Clark, Chairman of investment bank Rodman & Renshaw and one of the most distinguished retired military officers in US, to discuss the Company's merger and acquisition strategies and the potential opportunity for mutual cooperation in the green energy sector to utilize the resources of both parties, on September 11, 2009, in New York.

Mr. Alan Li, Chairman and CEO of the Company, extensively exchanged the fundamental information with General Wesley Clark, including the Company's profile, Chinese solar industry development policies and potential outlook, and CTDC's merger and acquisition strategies in the solar energy industry.

As a member of the Clinton Global Initiative's Energy & Climate Change Advisory Board and American Council on Renewable Energy's ("ACORE") Advisory Board, General Wesley Clark expressed his strong interest in cooperation with the Company in the Chinese green energy industry and extended strong endorsement for CTDC's M & A strategies. "With the positive renewable energy policies being adopted by the Chinese government, China presents one of the biggest markets for solar industry and low carbon economy in the near future. I will endeavor to help CTDC, a China-based solar company, to implement its strategies by introducing some appropriate acquisition targets in the US and providing assistance in fund raising," said General Wesley Clark.

Remember what the Republicans did in the 90's to the Clintons for having business relations with the Chinese.

4. AR
How likely is it they would elect the challenger?

Though I guess if MA can elect an R, maybe a place like AR might elect a D - then again, we're not just asking for a D, but a more progressive one.
