I'll be listening for more about this Dept. of Education increase. |

I wonder if he's increasing RTTT, so that he can award funds to more states who submitted proposals in response to the RFP. Maybe Colorado has a chance after all.
At this point, we're looking at closing 2 schools and laying off more than 20 teachers. If RTTT can provide some funds that are supplantable, I may be able to save a good chunk of them. We could use a lot of interventionist teachers - here's hoping.

pink-slipping, yet. They are waiting for the retirement list to fill out.
The teachers would love to get rid of the NCLB and other such testing programs so they can go back to teaching. They feel like nearly 10 years of true learning has been lost.

2. I'm 5 years from retiring myself. |

I've been running operations for 15 years. Finance, Food Service, Transportation and Maintenance/Capital Construction. It's been a trial at every turn. I don't even have to deal with the education side, but after 15 years of cabinet meetings, conferences, workshops, board meetings - you kinda pick up the drift. So I know what you mean about the testing. Our CSAP testing window is now open, so for the next month, it will be a rotating schedule of testing, makeups, MAPS, English Language assessments, etc.
Sad.
