in a brief tribute, and recommend his "People's History" as a way to get more of America on the same page for the hard work we've got ahead of us.

Now that strikes me as a Progressive dog whistle.
Whatever, Howard Zinn was a great man and a patriotic American. (I think he served on a Bomber in WW2? The mortality rate and sheer horror of serving on a bomber is incomprehensible to most of us.)
