They weren't really offensive because I think I get what Reid and Matthews were trying to say. That is, I don't think either of them really meant to be insulting. They were both incredibly stupid comments. And let's not forget Joe "foot-in-mouth" Biden with his "clean, articulate" remark.

Yet, President Obama can see past such foolishness and look at the whole person - obviously or he wouldn't have picked Biden as his VP. Maybe we should follow that example. OK, let's have our fun here either laughing at such folly or venting our outrage at such statements, but I thought Harry Reid was a milquetoast and Chris Matthews was a bit of a loud-mouthed boor before. My opinion hasn't changed.
