...publicly comment how much he enjoyed today's meeting/debate with the Republicans, and say that he looks forward to the next meeting with public coverage. The media will then immediately ask the Republicans if they will be invited in, forcing them to 1) say yes, setting themselvs up for another pounding, or 2) say no (or "we'll get back to you"), branding them as cowards. A win either way.
