Unbelievable pro-GOP spin on CNN
Candy Crowley, David Gergan and Mrs. Dan Senor just sat there parroting GOP talking points declaring that today's meeting the President was a big win for the GOP.

16. I saw a bit of it
Candy was worse that usual, and Gergen was almost as bad. Very few times I have seen him be outright hostile but this was one of them. He used all of his time to support Repukes or smack Obama.

2. Seriously?
Even GOP aides are admitting off the record according to Luke Russert that it was a "mistake" to have TV cameras in the Q&A today.

8. Something that I was worried about. Obama wins the battle
but the media spin of a fantasy meeting wins the war.

9. That's why we have to have his back......
because it isn't a fair fight in any way.....

We've got the smart one,
meanwhile, they've got most of the microphones...
and with the SCOTUS decision,
it becomes more so.

10. I see your point more clearly now...
but it also doesn't mean we give up when he doesn't do things we individually want...

like a family, we can argue, fight and squabble while at home - but once somebody ELSE trys to pick a fight - we rally.

DU is "home" - we can argue, fight and squabble - we're "family"...

11. Yeah, I watched ABC evening news last night--something I rarely do.
It was the top story, but what they showed were a couple of the tough-sounding GOP questions, and didn't show Obama's answers. The few seconds they did show of his answers were moments when he was pausing, trying to think of the right word. Nice GOP boot-licking, ABC.

12. Just fyi
I boycott ABC. They are worse than FoxNews. They are right wing, and have been doing the full tilt propaganda for some time now.

13. On the other hand, Ed Rollins waved the white flag
Said the whole thing should remind the GOP just how tough it's going to be for them to beat Obama in 2012.

14. Well, that's something, anyway.
After the SOTU, I was so annoyed at Rollins sitting there saying with a straight face, "Why would Republicans be bipartisan? It's not good for us." I was glad Shrum (I think that's who it was) said, "It's not about what's good for the party, Ed. Or our party. It's about what's good for the people."

I'm so sick of it all being about party before people!

Meanwhile, even if the news tries to downplay that ass whuppin' yesterday, if nothing else, it accomplished something awesome to behold: a number of disaffected Democrats (on the boards I read) are getting fired up again. Obama reminded people why we voted for him. That alone is very cool!

15. Agreed, and hopefully it has a similar effect on congressional D's
The SOTU plus yesterday is about giving them the cover to act if the R's keep playing Party of No, which I expect them to do. He's doing his part, and they will need to do theirs.
