We need that Obama.
"And the notion that I would somehow resist doing something that costs half as much but would produce twice as many jobs. Why would I resist that. I wouldn't. "
Above really sums up the difference between Democrats and Reichpublicans. Good governance versus ideology/cleptocracy.

And he should give such a talk to DEMs on the Hill too. Too many of them are quilty of campaigning all the time and not doing their share of governing. They need to stop making excuses and pass legislation.

2. He was also the same Obama who announced the troop escalation in Afghanistan... |

..... seriously, the EXACT same dude.
It was also the same guy who did not purse single payer health care reform.
The only thing different is our attitude toward him. ;)

AfPak policy.
The same Obama who, during the campaign, stated his belief in the separation of powers. Which is applicable to single payer, since considering the current makeup of the legislative branch, he would have to assume dictatorial powers to make it happen.
My OP was simply a comment on the return of Obama the communicator. Should have known, though, that making a positive comment about a Democratic President on Democratic Underground would result in my being 'corrected'.

4. Oh, she didn't want to correct you. |

From previous posts I assume that she wants to rub it in to the leftwing that you have to live with the Obama you've got, not the one you would wish for.
So the message seems to be, if you liked his amazing performance against the repubs, you'll have to like his wars.
If you don't buy the wars, you run the risk of being called Obama hater. That's the way it is.
