A Democratic majority is better than a Republican majority.
A Democratic majority at least keeps the committees under the control of Democrats.

Democrats who repeatedly stand in the way of progressive legislation suck.

Lincoln is such a Democrat: Lincoln challenges Obama on liberal "extremes"

Obama, in professorial mode, had spent much of the first hour of today's appearance instructing Democrats to stay his progressive course on health care and other key issues.

Lincoln, who faces serious competition in her '10 re-elect -- and a 27 percent approval rate in Arkansas -- practically demanded Obama "push back in our own party... for people at the extremes."

She added that "no one in your administration" understands how to make payroll.

Obama shot back hard, warning Lincoln, gently but firmly, that he had no intention of adopting the previous administration's policies, cautioning, "I don't know what would differentiate us from the other guys."

Lincoln is a perfect candidate for a primary challenge. So is Specter, and so was Lieberman. They're entrenched in their states.

Lincoln will likely win if she survives the primary. The key thing is that Bill Halter presents a serious challenge: he can win the primary and the GE.

3. There is no "if" involved.
A Republican majority means the Democratic agenda is tabled. Period.

5. And It Means Endless Committee Hearings into Obama's Birth Certificate
Rezko, Blago, etc. IOW, the Republicans will use their committee power to score political points against the President instead of doing anything at all substantive.

And of course, the media will soak it all up.

15. Wasn't Pelosi who put impeachment off the table?
Democratic agenda? Precisely what do you mean by that? It certainly is not the agenda that Democratic voters expected when they voted for those folks with Ds after their names.

4. That much is obvious, or should be.
The Republican agenda sucks. Anybody who thinks it is better than the Democratic Agenda is not a Democrat or a progressive.

6. There are Dems. here who say they'd rather have a liberal minority than a majority.
They just don't care that the Repubs. would be in control of the agenda.

7. Lincoln will lose by double-digits. Halter probably will also.
Lincoln is a perfect candidate for a primary challenge because she is toast, so we might as well lose the seat with some dignity rather than running a DINO who will run as a de facto Republican and still get crushed.

No point conceding the race to a Republican before the Democratic primary.

Obama has once again endorsed the same olf thing over "change."

It has become a familiar pattern.

16. Up is down, black is white: Blanche is done and deserves her fate
Lincoln is so far behind and has such high negatives that she's long since gone.

Only magical thinkers who believe in miracles would back Blanche Lincoln expecting her "to survive."

She's toast, and so increasingly- due to congress and the administration's own behavior are the chances of retaining Democratic majorities.

17. Agreed
A Republican majority does = defeat for most all Democratic agendas. In addition, they desire to see the Democratic party fail by any means necessary.

Democrats are definitely the lesser of two evils.

Good luck getting a progressive Democrat elected in a primarily conservative area. Odds are high in that scenario, a Republican will win.
