I never heard about this one, or I don't remember. Is this true? I know the one w/ Pharma. They had a press conference about it.

Also, these deals are useless. I doubt they'll abide by them once Obama is out of office. So either 3yrs from now or 7yrs from now, we're even more screwed.

It's the same theme going on in the shit Financial Reform too (now with no Consumer protection -- and no doubt endorsed by Obama).
More money for the rich...democrats or republicans...it doesnt matter who is majority..it is always the same outcome...the people get screwed.

I'm not even wasting my time. They keep saying a deal with Pharma and yet Obama's recent HCR outline was deemed as a slap in the face to the Pharma deal. He supported vocally drug reimportation---another slap in the face to Pharma...so I have to wonder what deal this is. And I'm like Obama just donated billions in order to build up community health clinics in both the US and US territories--ie Guam, PR and others.

Lastly, I've caught Cenk either outright lying or spreading misinformation. He exaggerates a lot and jumps to many conclusions. And the shit is I adore TYT and think Cenk is great, but I can see when he makes some faults in reporting.

3. I believe there was a deal
and I remember reading a lot about it. I have a killer headache or I'd look it up. Should be easily googled.

Reps to Request Info on White House Health Care Deals
Lawmakers Poised to Investigate Possible Closed-Door Deals With Industry
By EMILY WALKER
MedPage Today Staff Writer
Jan. 30, 2010

In a rare display of bipartisanship, a top House Democrat agreed to back a Republican lawmaker's quest for details of closed-door deals the White House made with industry insiders to produce a healthcare reform bill.

The Senate and House discuss compromises on the different versions of the bill.Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said he'd help Dr. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) seek information on the names of representatives from the pharmaceutical, device, hospital, doctor, and insurance sectors, who met with White House officials regarding healthcare reform.

Waxman and Burgess said they will also request any written materials regarding the "sum and substance" of any deals made when the individual or groups met with a White House representative, and any "written materials memorializing any agreements that were provided to outside participants."

They said they will also request written communications between Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, and stakeholders from the healthcare industry.
