39. My dad went to HS with the local town mortician... |
|
And I went to HS with his son. Between us we have some killer stiff stories... bodies that move between the time to lay them out and come back, smiles that won't stay sewn down, etc. After hearing about embalming in blow by blow accounts, I think I want to be thrown in a pine box raw and let the worms do their thing.

The child's on a training phone and the father is right there to yank control away from him. It's not like he left the child in charge and went out to lunch.
Was it stupid, yeah? Is it worth all of the overblown hysteria? No.
Why do Americans have to get hysterical over absolutely everything?

But I'm pretty sure if the tape hadn't have gotten out to the public that nothing would have been done. I don't think anyone was ever in any danger. The tone of the pilots voices tells me they weren't concerned at all.
I think that it was still a stupid thing to do, but I don't think it's a news story.

So, it is thus fortunate that it became news.

are guilty of overblown hysteria? I say not.

The controller is the one who made the decision that led to the communication. Instead of saying it himself he told a kid to say it.
The controller was still in charge.

Not because of the line of work, but my boss's bratty kid ruined my prized, most unique in the whole world tiny slinky by grabbing it off my desk and running down the hall with it dragging behind on the carpet. Some things are irreplaceable, dammit!
