Oops.... I lied.

Approve 52%
Disapprove 41%

The American public respect politicians who try to "mend" Washington and don't give up. They are seeing that the Republicans are the problem.

And they wouldn't have begun to see it without the one-on-one settings of the GOP retreat and the HCR summit.

...and Jim Bunning didn't hurt either.

1. Obama is not the one who has to worry--he is likable.
On the other hand, Congressional Job Approval could stand some improvement.

3. See, what the GOP FORGOT about "Waterloo" is that Napoleon SURRENDERED...
... and I KNOW this because ABBA told me so! ;)

Sadly, the GOP, as so many have done before and failed, underestimated who they were dealing with.

7. I have nothing but faith in our President. He has done a great job in the middle of the biggest
shitstorm in history.
People just don't realize that this is a long term game that President Obama simply will not lose. He just won't win it in one flashy move...
He also won't win it without us. We all have to do our part. If we do that, continue to support him, don't allow ourselves to become full of repig hate and ignorance, and keep the faith, the end game will be beautiful.

I agree the wait is excruciating, but it will be oh so worth it. That's why I think President Obama is great. He's given me someone to respect as a leader and hope that I haven't had in my life time.

I'm completely chilled...

10. YEP ...
He has burnt up a lot of "political capital" on it, given the never ending mindless stream of BS the lunatic right has generated.

He won't get it all back, but the media will turn a bit in his direction on it once it is passed. He won't get all of what he burned back, but he will get some of it back ...

8. So where would he get that support?
From the 48 percent of Americans who consider him too liberal?

9. Considering that the standard definition of a "liberal"..
is a weak, ineffectual, Colmes-like creature, some fire in the belly would only have served to win him more support.

But anyone who thinks he is anything other than corporatist wolf in sheep's clothing is kidding themselves at this point. Of course he never intended to fight for the people. The goal from day one was to force liberals to cede every last inch of ground and pander to Republicans so that the insurance industry could get their taxpayer funded bailout without any risk of real competition or change.

11. yes, the Obama brand is still relatively popular with the low
information, non-teabagger crowd. folks I know on the left who pay close attention are NOT impressed. of course that is anectdotal but still... And of course he is still the "second coming" to the personality cult freaks.

13. Low information? Those are called Republicans.
Most liberals...of which Obama has above 85% approval per Gallup and other polls, are not low information types. Perhaps people simply approve of him.

12. The media, as usual, still doesn't get it. The real story is how with an economy at nearly
10% unemployment Obama has been able to maintain relatively high approval ratings when even their hero Ronald Reagan was down to the low 40's.
