While in Chile, Clinton has transformed herself into a miniature Chilean angel person, probably, we assume, because she wanted to get a firsthand look at the earthquake's devastation without being mobbed by adoring fans. President Michelle Bachelet also transformed into a miniature Chilean angel person, but it wasn't as impressive because she's already Chilean.

I happen to have her tonight but most of the time she's with my mom and dad who need her love more than I do, so I share.

They're in their 80's and living out their years at home after we almost lost dad through all kinds of hospital hell last year.

Now I'm keeping fish and coral in a saltwater aquarium.

I did look at the NYT several times yesterday, and there was a photo of both women, looking very concerned and serious as appropriate for the devastation.

I can't say it surprises me that some wankers--usually but not always conservatives--have a psychological need to believe that those who get the better of them are not mere humans: it allows them to think of themselves as first-rate human beings beaten by a superhuman race rather than stupid, ignorant, and lazy people outdone by smart, studious, and hard-working fellow humans. Wow, that's pretty nasty, but then, I don't go for that "post-partisan" kumbaya baloney that's had an unfortunate vogue of late.
