Lets be perfectly clear about this... HCR is not being done via reconciliation
Edited on Thu Mar-04-10 09:27 AM by Perky
The House is going to vote on the Senate bill which was supported by 60 members.

Reconciliation is meant to fix a set of funding problems identified by the House and to include some Republican ideas that the president want to include. the tweaks are being done by reconciliation not HCR itself.

1. Exactly.
The House Dems are caving and are gonna pass that scandalous corporate giveaway that the Senate passed, then claim a political win. :hurts:

3. I thought that the House was ....

only going to vote to approve the Senate version with the caveat that the Prez's new bill replace the Senate bill in the followup reconciliation process. The House I thought was even trying to get something in writing or a tie-in amendment/bill to the House vote.

Fear in the house is that if the Prez reconciliation bill, that must then be voted by majority only, is not passed, Obama will thn go ahead and sign the Senate version (then passed by the House too) exactly as it now is.

House doesn't support the Senate version, period and they don't trust the Senate - Just my understanding.
