New Blanche Lincoln ad: "I don't answer to my party" (VIDEO)

MoreABC News' Teddy Davis and David Chalian report:

What does it take for a Democrat to win in a Red State in 2010?

For starters, depict Washington, a town run by your own party, as children.

Second, explicitly tout your opposition to central components of your party’s agenda including the public option and the cap-and-trade bill.

That’s the strategy being followed by Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D) in a television ad launched on Thursday.

Watch Lincoln’s ad HERE:

In 2008, Arkansas went for John McCain over Barack Obama by 20 points.

Lincoln, who opposes legislation which would make union organizing easier, is being challenged on her Left in the Democratic primary by Lt. Gov. Bill Halter. Halter has attracted the support of organized labor, MoveOn.org, and Democracy for America, the group started by Howard Dean.

On Wednesday, Jane Hamsher of the liberal FireDogLake.com, argued on ABC’s “Top Line,” that a populist Democrat like Halter stands a better chance of winning than a centrist like Lincoln whom Hamsher described as a “corporatist” because of her ties to big business

6. That is not an ad.
It is an expensive political suicide letter and a betrayal of every other down ticket candidate she is running with.

Imagine her on the door, so Blanche why should I vote for the Democratic Party?

Err ??? Because their horrible child like creatures that waste money?

Right well done.

9. They may vote for her in a Primary
(if it is open) but just like the Senate they will not vote for her in the general.

This ad secures her loss.

12. Thanks for the info!
So, if I am correct, the repubs could vote for her in the Primary in order to ensure the more progressive Dem doesn't win thereby giving their own repub candidate a better chance of winning the seat?

18. Isn't this what we wanted?
We've been constantly lectured that conservaDems are our only choice in red states if we wish to hold on to our majority. "Go ahead," a prevailing "centrist" wisdom has taunted progressives. "Support a liberal in the primaries. See where it gets you!"

Well, this is what a conservaDem looks like. They derive much of their power from constantly explaining to their constituents. "Don't worry. I may be a Democrat, but think of me as more of an old school Southern Democrat *wink wink* I'm not like those crazy liberals!"

Lincoln is merely doing what we've relentlessly been told conservaDems have to do, what we've been told we should support her and those like her in doing.

Now, it's foul ball? What, was she just too blatant?

Tch. The President and others got into bed with her. Was everyone wearing beer goggles at the time? Well, welcome to the harsh light of dawn, kids.

19. This is a clear signal to DSCC
not to support her campaign, it's also saying 'Fuck You' to Democrats.

All right Blanche, fuck you too.
