Edited on Sun Mar-07-10 02:16 PM by MannyGoldstein
"I won't pull the football away this time, I promise!"

Good grief.

4. As FDR Said...
"They are unanimous in their hate for me – and I welcome their hatred."

2. much like my post, the OOPS squad will unrec and negate your good point.
I wrote a few paragraph post about my disgust over what's going on... watched it go up and down. The OOPS squad is in full force. (Obedient Purity Squad)

5. Yeah-what's the extra "O" for and why is there an "S" if the word "squad" is used after the letters?

9. It's a faith-based presidency
This has been brutally apparent from early on in his campaigning during the primaries: we've constantly been implored to trust him and believe that he'll do the right thing. Even in the stark light of a habitually evasive and corporatist legislative record, we were and still are told to believe that it's all some kind of elaborate chess game to dupe the reactionaries.

The very thrust of much of the dissent-quashing from the stalwarts is based on the premise that we should specifically trust someone who we are being told is lying to and misleading conservatives. The wink-wink, nudge-nudge dirty little secret that he's only playing along with the entrenched monied interests until the bright new day when he'll betray him is not only groundless, it's basing trust on inherent untrustworthiness. What's worse is that many think his supposed deceptiveness to them is somehow cute and some kind of poetic justice.
