Packard: Fiorina almost destroyed HP
The granddaughter of one of Hewlett-Packard’s founders wrote a letter Monday trashing California GOP Senate candidate Carly Fiorina’s leadership of the company.

Arianna Packard, the granddaughter of HP co-founder David Packard, wrote the letter to the three Republican senators who recently endorsed Fiorina – James Inhofe and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma as well as Jon Kyl of Arizona – over former Rep. Tom Campbell and state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore.

Packard has a long feud with Fiorina, publicly criticizing her leadership of the company and pushing for her ouster in 2005. In 2002, Packard teamed with Bill Hewlett – son of co-founder Walter Hewlett – in an attempt to kill Fiorina’s planned merger with Compaq.

“As I'm sure you've seen over the past year, voters don't like Senators who don't read bills before they vote on them,” Packard wrote in a letter first posted on the conservative blog RedState. “Voters (and donors) also don't like Senators who get involved in contested primaries, especially without having done their homework. I would respectfully suggest that in the future you conduct more detailed research on candidates before endorsing them.”

1. Packard is still a Republican, as far as I can tell
This is just a personal vendetta by the looks of it, but ultimately these GOP sorts and their wealthy supporters are interchangable.

2. No, she's quite factually correct.
Carly Fiorina was the most incompetent CEO Hewlett Packard ever knew.

3. HP was almost destroyed
Fiorina damned near drove that company into the ground. We have to use HP (contractually) in quite a bit of our lab equipment. The crap that they produced under Fiorina was unbelievable. Even high end workstations were pretty much unusable.

Since she left we managed to replace almost all of them with far cheaper and far better rigs.

5. Jerry Brown is the only logical choice for the next CA Governor.
However, a lot of stupid has moved into CA over the past two decades.

6. Fiorina is running for Senate
Brown is fighting Meg Whitman and her obscenely huge war chest.

7. Even still, a recent CA poll has Brown at least 6 points ahead of either GOP challenger, Whitman or
Poizner.

However, a lot can change between now and November, and that's what concerns me.

Fiorina won't win the Senate. Boxer will destroy her. She's still extremely popular in CA.

Boxer by 10 points.

8. Whitman's scorched earth campaign ads will sow blowback
I mean, the public can only tolerate so much negative crap. Jerry may experience a double digit win, too.

9. If that's the case, then I would expect CA to finally go single-payer healthcare.
Three times the CA state legislature has voted single-payer in, only to have Guvahnah Ahhnold veto it, and they didn't have enough votes to override the veto.

It most recently passed a little over a month ago with a 22-14 vote, but Ahnold vetoed it.

10. California: The Compaq Presario state.
Want cheap crap? Where all costs were cut, to minimize costs?

Come to California, where cheap crap and cheap governance means good economic policy! Sure, you'll regret it, but profit means more than product!

:sarcasm:
