Two years later, still no financial industry regulations or oversight |

A trillion taxpayer dollars paid out to banks, and still no laws passed, not a single thing done to prevent any future abuses on their part. Here's a http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=4299727&mesg_id=4299794">blunt but accurate post from another DUer in response to the LBN thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=4299727&mesg_id=4299727">"Greece asks US to help crackdown on speculators"

1. I am really dumbfounded that they didn't immediately re-instate the |
|
Glass-Steagall Act. The banks will screw up again and it will be much worse the next time.

I remember right after I became an expat, the shit hit the fan. I went to a wedding in the states and everyone was talking about it. McCain was suspending his campaign. That was a year and a half ago.

If anything goes wrong banks no wknow taxpayers will always bail them out so they can take it home in their expected 9-digit anual bonuses.

6. Careful there! Don't you know that Geithner saved the economy? |
|
That's what we've been told. Never mind that the fundamentals haven't been fixed everything is just dandy now. It's been declared so.

7. He was Incredible! He had the "World on his Shoulders" and he Came THROUGH! |
|
...and it was all for us...he saved us..
Why is it that we aren't thankful to him.. He must wake up at 3:00 a.m. every night in cold sweat wondering...wondering...WHY AREN'T THEY THANKFUL? WHAT's WRONG WITH THEM? DON'T they SEE what SUMMERS AND ME DID FOR THEM? Why is it they CANNOT FORGIVE GREENSPAN? He WAS OUR MENTOR!
He sniffs a little then turns over in his sweat filled bed...and goes back...into a blissful dream...where everything is roses...and petals strewn in his way. He is a man at peace with himself...until the Nightmare at 3:00 a.m...intrudes every night.
It's a small price to pay for all that FAME & GLORY!....and the MONEY DOWN THE ROAD!
