Obama needs to begin the Katrina Hurricane investigation. We're talking some crazy stuff...
I have a friend in New Orleans who worked at the Water Department and witnessed the Katrina hurricane at one of the water stations that were directly affected by the flood that occurred then.

That's a completely wild story which I could go on about. But one of the more chilling events that happened with my friend and his co-workers was having Blackwater agents in full metal jacket regalia show up fully armed and bragging about shooting "looters". He said that New Orleans police were also involved.

So what happened today in breaking news?

Second former NO cop charged in Katrina coverup

A former New Orleans police detective has been charged with helping conceal a conspiracy by police to cover up a deadly police shooting of unarmed civilians after Hurricane Katrina.

Jeffrey Lehrmann is the second former member of the police department to be charged in a federal probe of shootings on the Danziger Bridge that killed two people and wounded four others.

(snip)

"He's going to plead guilty in two days, and that's certainly a sign that he's been cooperating and will continue to cooperate with federal authorities...The FBI, the U.S. Attorney's office, as well as the Department of Justice."

Police are accused of fabricating witness statements, falsifying reports and planting a gun in an attempt to make it appear the shootings were justified.

Michael Lohman, a retired lieutentant, earlier pleaded guilty to conspiring to obstruct justice.

This is just either the tip of the iceberg or a way for those involved to have a couple fall guys and try to make it all go away.

There are stories about how the City Coroner was forced to say the victims who were shot and killed (often innocent bystanders) died of "natural causes".

1. Your friend is not alone with the stories.
My son's friend was with the National Guard in NO. The young man was also an Iraq war vet. He said that the only difference between NO and Iraq was that in NO, when you shot someone you stacked the victims and took their ID's. People in the US just can't imagine that our own government came in and shot folks but there are people with these memories and it will be a part of the fabric of our nation. You can't hide this stuff forever! Chilling.

4. If President Obama will not investigate TORTURE and WAR CRIMES, there's little hope he'll look into
domestic atrocities. :(

6. Full metal jacket refers to a particular type bullet's shell casing.
Not protective body armor.

8. Let's just say they were suited up...
Actually, it turned out later that my same friend, who went back to his home to check to see if it was still in one piece and that his cat was still alive found soldiers in his home who nearly blew his head off when he entered his own home.

He told me this and I was surprised he felt relieved at the time that there was at least some order in the neighborhood, which at that point had no police force and the city was under military siege anyway with martial law fully in place.
