Not sure it will happen, but I like the attitude! (Of course, that's what I said about the Senator from IL who wanted to run for Pres. three years ago, what do I know?)

DCCC Announces First Round of Red to Blue Program

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today announced 13 candidates who have earned a spot in the DCCC’s highly competitive Red to Blue program. These candidates earned a spot in the program by surpassing demanding fundraising goals and skillfully demonstrating to voters that they will work to create jobs and stand up for the middle class.

“These candidates have come out of the gate strong and the Red to Blue Program will give them the financial and structural edge to be even more competitive in November,” said Chairman Chris Van Hollen, Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “These candidates are generating excitement back home and are making the case to voters that their commitment to creating jobs and standing up for the middle class is far better than turning back the clock to the failed Bush policies of the past.”

Chairman Van Hollen joined DCCC Vice Chair Bruce Braley (IA) and Red to Blue co-chairs Allyson Schwartz (PA), Patrick Murphy (PA), and Donna Edwards (MD) to announce the first 13 candidates who qualified for the Red to Blue:

Ami Bera (CA-03)
Paula Brooks (OH-12)
John Callahan (PA-15)

John Carney (DE-AL)
Suzan DelBene (WA-08)

Lori Edwards (FL-12)

Raj Goyle (KS-04)
Roy Herron (TN-08)
Bryan Lentz (PA-07)
Rob Miller (SC-02)

Steve Pougnet (CA-45)

Dan Seals (IL-10)

Tom White (NE-02)

The Red to Blue program highlights top Democratic campaigns across the country, and offers them financial, communications, grassroots, and strategic support. The program will introduce Democratic supporters to new, competitive candidates in order to help expand the fundraising base for these campaigns. The very successful fundraising effort helped raise more than $26 million for Red to Blue candidates last cycle.

Volunteer for these people if you can and if you're not in their district, make like a teabagger and SEND THEM SOME MONEY!!!

ETA: Rove told ... somebody .... somewhere ..... that he agreed with Steele and did NOT think the GOP would take either chamber this fall. Cant cite that because I read it on Twitter HOURS ago, just take my world for it.

.... that's at least in my neck of the woods. I'd been planning on volunteering for the Dem. candidate here but, currently, the GOP is running unopposed.

24. Howdy.
In the general area but not my district. I was mildly interested when LE entered the race only to be shat upon when I read how she met with the party people and essentially impressed them with her DINO-ism. :-(

Guess what "middle class" has become a code word for.

13. I think they're desperation is showing, they claim passing HCR will doom us. Bullshit.
If anyone caught Jon Stewart and his guest, you'll know what I mean by bullshit.

This asshole said we're in a lose lose lose scenario.

If we don't pass it, we'll look like we've wasted a year.

If we do pass it, the right will be so full of talking points that we'll be doomed.

What he failed to mention is that most Americans are for and will benefit from HCR.

We need to pass it, and we will then be able to spin that into at least holding our majority if not increasing it.

Otherwise Democrats really are toast in November.

She is a DINO. Lots of people say that she will never win in Hillsborough County. There is also a new PDA chapter in CD-12 that is hoping to get our membership to 100 sign-ups. When that happens, we will get PDA to endorse Doug Tudor.

26. Look for DLCers and DINOs and keep them from getting funding.
Send our funding to where it can be used to help elect Democrats who support a Democratic agenda, instead of moles.

18. If you WORK for a Living,
Never, EVER donate to the DCCC or the DSCC.
They WILL use your money AGAINST your own Economic Interests by Steamrolling REAL Grass Roots Progressive "Democrats" and inserting their Corporate Friendly DLC approved carpet bagger DINO candidate in YOUR Local Primary, and then use their National Funding to bury the local Progressive competition.

THAT is HOW we wound up with a Party that has more Republicans than REAL Democrats.
Wonder WHY we can't get a real Health Care Reform Bill through our "Democratically" controlled Congress?
Wonder WHY we can't get a decent Public Option?
Wonder WHY Military Spending keeps increasing and Social Programs are being cut?
Wonder WHY Wall Street gets TRILLIONS and Main Street is told to Fuck itself?
See above.

21. BTW:
Rahm WAS the head of the DCCC during the BIG sellout years before he got his new gig as Obama's Consigliore.

I stopped donating to the DCCC (DSCC) after watching Rahm's thugs at work in Minnesota.
After the "Centrist" Democratic Leadership promptly banished Howard Dean and took credit for HIS work, I stopped donating to them too.

I now only donate directly to Progressive incumbents with PROVEN Pro Working Class Records, or challengers to DLC/BlueDogs.

22. I have been saying this for a while - IF we back Democratic candidates, we will win a greater
majority in November. This is why the GOP is increasingly foaming at the mouth crazy over the last month-they are running behind on funds, have NO decent candidates, and are getting scared that "NO" might have been the wrong philosophy....

28. Keep dreaming
There's an chance we won't lose more than five seats. However, a net gain of 13 seems impossible. But if you're right, I will be the first to apologize and thank you.

31. Weird to have Murphy & Schwartz at Red-to-Blue.
They're both moderates of the fiscal conservative/social liberal villager type. Donna Edwards, however, is a solid progressive.
