NYT: Obama Announces Endorsements for Health Care Bill
President Obama made a surprise appearance at the daily White House press briefing on Thursday afternoon to announce that the nation’s leading advocacy group for the elderly as well as the largest doctor’s organization have endorsed the current health care plan being considered in Congress.

“We are closer to passing this reform than ever before,” Mr. Obama said, adding that he was “extraordinarily pleased and grateful” with endorsements from the AARP and the American Medical Association.

The president urged members of Congress to consider the viewpoints being offered from two distinct sides of the debate: elderly Americans fearful that a health care overhaul could cut into Medicare, and the nation’s doctors and medical professionals.

“The AARP knows this bill will make health care more affordable,” Mr. Obama said. “They know it’s a good deal for our seniors, and that’s why they are standing up for this effort.” He added, “The doctors of America know what needs to be fixed with our health care system.”

2. Indeed, it is! Although, I believe they both still support Obama's healthcare bill.

3. If you're saying that if a bill is endorsed by the AMA...
...then it's probably good for patients, then I don't buy that premise.

Patients have an interest in low medical fees. Doctors have an interest in high medical fees.

5. This bill is good for all of us, but especially the 30M+ who have no access to health insurance
As I have written many times, if Obama's healthcare bill is good enough for the independent 'socialist' Bernie Sanders, it is good enough for me.

6. yeah but what about the other 30 mil who have been DISAPPEARED from the project?
You know, those folks NOT covered? They get to pay fines for something they CAN'T get.

No wonder the AMA likes it -- more money for them - more unhealthy people winding up in the ER's.

CHA-CHING!
