Specter wins big service union backing
Senator Arlen Specter continued to find the forces of organized labor on his side Monday, winning the endorsement of the state’s chapter of the powerful Service Employees International Union.

“SEIU fights for its members, so we have a natural kinship with Senator Specter, who is well known as a fighter for Pennsylvania,” Eileen Connelly, executive director of the SEIU’s state council, said in a statement. “He’s been there for us and now we are proud to be here for him. We have close to 100,000 SEIU members in PA and we are ready to play our part in making sure Senator Specter stays in the US Senate so he can keep working on behalf of Pennsylvania families.”

Two months before his primary showdown with Joe Sestak, Specter—always organized labor’s favorite Republican when he was still with the GOP—has slowly but surely been racking up the bulk of union support in Pennsylvania.

2. Not too long ago, he campaigned for Palin while she called the President a terrorist.
I don't trust him. If he wins in November he will probably switch back. He only came over because he couldn't beat Toomey in the primary.

8. Sad really...when he was standing strong for the Repubs before.
Now he's one of the best we got. It says so much about the Dems.

6. That's too bad. I think Sestak would make an excellent Senator.
