Teabaggers against health reform demonstrate teh crazy
Tea Party Crowd Calls For Pelosi To Be Tried For Treason

Scattered amongst the now-familiar chants, shouts and cackles at this morning's Code Red tea party-style rally on Capitol Hill (you know the drill -- "Kill the Bill!," "Shame!," etc) was a new line of attack on the Democratic health care reform package and the woman trying to bring it to final passage in the House, Nancy Pelosi.

"Treason!" several in the audience yelled as Pelosi's "deem and pass" plan was criticized by speaker after speaker standing in the center of the circle of several hundred protesters. "Try her for treason!"

Let's Be Clear

Josh Marshall

Before the bamboozlement gets too far, let's be clear about what the House is considering doing. There are two bills. The senate's original bill and the changes to that bill the House has now negotiated with the Senate. Normally, this is all hashed out in a conference committee. And it's all voted on in a single vote. In this case, that's not possible because of the continuing Republican filibuster in the Senate. So the House is considering taking both bills, consolidating them into a single vote, up or down. The old fashioned way. This isn't 'not having a vote'. And this has been done repeatedly before. Anybody who thinks these two bills shouldn't be passed simultaneously or thinks one or the other shouldn't pass has a simple solution. Vote no. Simple.

This isn't complicated. It's consolidating two votes into one.

1. My own concerns about deem-and-pass aside...
...these teabaggers should be rounded up and airlifted to the Gray Area Coffeeshop in Amsterdam. For intensive medicinal therapy, mind you.

I just envisioned tying teabagger fucks to chairs and blowing 'shotguns' into their faces until an attitude adjustment occurs.

4. The thing about teabaggers is..
they have no real knowledge of what's going on so they resort to mob mentality and display signs that they should be committed for observation.

Now..thanks for this explanation from Josh Marshall, PS.

12. That's why you can't argue with them...
They don't understand the issues at all and only know how to parrot the talking points they've been given. When you try to delve into specific issues, you get idiotic statements such as: "Education is a privilege and people just need to get used to that" even though we know that a well educated population is a countries best defense... or... "It's going to cost us trillions!" without understanding we are brutally screwed already, so who cares if it's 12 trillion or 14? I mean, c'mon! Does it really matter? No, of course not... except that spending some of that money just might help "we the people" instead of "them the corporations."

They cherry pick from the health care bill just like they cherry picked Iran intelligence... they seem afraid of the big picture.

11. their anger is frightening
The fact is that nothing Pelosi can do in the Senate could possibly be illegal, much less treason because sh can't do anything not ruled appropriate by the Parliamentarian.

It looks like their version of "fair" means they get what they want. Makes me want to quote John McCain to them, "Elections have consequences". (I know I hated that for 4 years, especially when he said it directly to Senator Kerry.)
