Poll question: Will Kucinich change his vote?
Will he stand on principles or will he make a deal with the president and "decide" to vote yes?

1. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
Edited on Tue Mar-16-10 05:40 PM by Forkboy
If DK doesn't vote yes people like yourself will be lining up to rip him a new asshole for it. If he does change his vote people like yourself will be lining up to rip him a new asshole for flip flopping.

6. Ill rip him a new one either way
Since i think his current move is pure grandstanding. Hes best move was to back progress instead of the status quo. When he caves, it will be proof even to his most ardent supporters that he was grand standing.

34. bank on it. I liked DK until this crap started
When he pitched his tent with the obstructionists, it made me look twice at him. If his stance is so damn wobbly it just means he didn't put the necessary thought into this before he opened his mouth.

15. In a recent DU thread I read a Kucinich constituent who likes and admires him admit
that he does grandstand.

I think he has good ideas, although I don't agree with all of them, but he is like the mouse that roared and seems to love attention. Lots of noise, but not much actually gets accomplished.

16. Boy, could you have worded it a little less judgmentally? He could still stand for his
principles and vote for HCR. I wouldn't for a minute think he all of a sudden didn't care about Single Payer or that he'd give up the fight. Jeez. I'll respect him no matter how he votes. I know his intentions are for the good of the people, and I would never presume to second-guess his motivation.

18. sorry but your equivocating
He made it clear that he must vote no to stand on his principles. Since the bill hasn't changed since then, he must stick to his position or it will be proof that he is just grandstanding.

31. I still can't agree. People change their minds -- IF he votes Yes, he probably
has learned something or re-thought something that makes him feel he's doing the right thing. Just my opinion, natch, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt -- either way.

BTW, on KO/Lawrence O'Donnell right now they're intimating that they think he'll vote yes, otherwise why call a press conference?

What do you think he'll do?

And, does his vote really matter, numbers-wise?

33. His vote does matter ...
as it takes all of us to make progress when the majority is this thin. I think he will cave and as glad as i am that he will, it also drains every bit of respect i have for him. If his stand was so principled, then he should be sticking to it.

If he changes his vote to yes, most of his DU supporters are going underground (pun intended). Over the past few days they've been praising this guy like he was the second coming of Christ. So much for principles.
