Can I get an "Amen" for Dennis Kucinich?
He fought the good fight to make this bill as good as it could be.

And I have no doubt - NO DOUBT - that he will continue the fight to make health care even better.

Congratulations, Rep. Kucinich!

2. As a NE Ohio native, I have been a Kucinich-disliker from way way back
but today I am here to say...AMEN!!!!

Is the bill going to be perfect? No. But let's pass it, then keep refining and fixing and improving what we have, rather than waiting for the magical never-to-come day in which we can pass something that is every single thing we want in one fell swoop.

We use this as a starting point...a launching pad. Then we move forward and work on achieving everything we want to achieve. But the important thing is to have the starting point.

Good for you, Dennis. Thanks.

5. there is no "fix it later" . If it passes it wont take effect for years
and in the meantime, every puke will run against "Obamacare" and if the People dont feel better about their health care situation in the very near future, they'll blame it on the Dems and Obama.

10. I respectfully submit the opinion that you have not been paying much attention
or you would know there are aspects of the bill that come into effect as soon as it becomes law. Also, is the fact that "every puke will run against 'Obamacare'" supposed to be a down side? Sounds like one of their talking points to me. I think what will happen, on the contrary, is that Dems understand it will make such an immediate difference for so many people that passing it will actually be to their advantage come November. And it's about time the spineless ones got guts and determined to pass something for some reason or other, rather than being terrified to do anything lest it cost them at the polls.

12. They will do so at their own peril.
Trying to undo this bill will become another 'third rail'.

15. I am happy he chose the correct decision. I was one of the few people here who
wants the HCR bill to pass but did not want him primaried nor did I think he needed to change his vote if we did not need his vote. I don't dislike him that much, I dislike his all or nothing tactics at times. We need his vote. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. We needed him. The President appealed to him and I am pleased at the outcome. Thank you Dennis.

He's done exactly the right thing the whole way through. Someone needs to stand up for the change we were expecting and desperately need. But in the end, we have to face reality. I think he's been the perfect balance.

24. Yep.
If there were a hundred of him in Congress we'd all be cheering them on. As nearly the lone progressive, his has been a lonely row to hoe.

That he is leaning toward an aye vote makes me feel better about the shape the bill is taking.

28. More of an "It's about fucking time" than an "Amen"
It's good that he keeps up the fight for single-payer, or a public option that's actually available to the public.

But the recent "no" was just a lot of publicity-seeking drama.

Ah, heck, it got him an invite to the White House. I hear the food there is pretty good.

:hi:
